We have WP eMember installed on our site (V8.95 – WordPress Showing no Updates available) and eMember Form Builder (v4.9 – recently purchased)

What ever we try on the back end it won’t replace the first form, is there a new version of one of these plugin’s? if so any idea why it hasn’t updated. I read in the documentation it should replace this as soon as the plugin is installed and a default form created for this or am i missing something?

The reason being is we want the text visible on the first form and not on the summary of the initial registration, as it should be only visible pre to registration. if not is there a class that i can use to hide this on the second registration or a variable i can check for in php to enable this paragraph to be hidden.

I look forward to you response

You are using the email confirmation feature. The actual registration form is shown to users when they complete that initial email confirmation form and click on the special link sent to them via email. So you are not actually seeing the actual registration form just by going at that page directly. The following page has more explanation on how that email confirmation feature works:

Also, please load a fresh new copy of emember using the following instructions. We have made a few improvements that should be good for you:

Ok we have got the check you email step included, is it possible to have another page for the complete registration process, or hide content on the main registration page that was visible above the initial email confirmation form.

Are you using method 1 or method 2 from the following documentation?

    https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/free-members-must-confirm-their-email-address-460

The first method is easier and you don’t really need to do anything other than that use the standard registration form and enable the option in the settings.

I think there is some miss understanding here,

We are using the method 2 as described in the link you include.

So the Initial form completes and re-directs to a check your email page.

But then they receive and email the confirmation link, which goes to the original page but with variables after it (?member_id=3514&code=0e9236c500453e3c624ca96939f8aabf). I want this to go to a complete your registration page, so i can have different text from the initial page sign-up page.

So is it possible to change the page link in the email to the registrant, or do another redirect if it finds the variables?

okay so when using the 2nd method, the [free_rego_with_email_confirmation] shortcode needs to go to a completely NEW page that you create. Currently, I think you have put that confirmation shortcode on the standard registration page that emember creates at the time of install. That page needs to contain the standard registration form shortcode. If you go back to the following documentation and read the 2nd method carefully, you will see that it never tells you to put the confirmation shortcode on the existing registration page. It tells you to create a new page:

    https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/free-members-must-confirm-their-email-address-460

The special link sent in the email will always go to the standard registration page. The URL of this page is controlled by the following settings field:

WP eMember Settings -> Pages/Forms Settings -> Registration Page

Whatever URL value is in the above mentioned field, that is supposed to be the main registration page. The special link will contain a link to that page with extra variables.

If this is too confusing please use the 1st method. That method is the recommended one. Let me know if you see face any issue with using the 1st method and I will guide you.
