Hi,
Love the plugin, especially after wrestling with the folks at a separate WP E-Commerce site.
Anyway, I need help. It would be easier for you to see this page:
http://records.pwradio.net/test/
using [wp_eStore_category_products_fancy id=8 style=2 order=1] I get an offset of the 2nd and each successive product. This does not seem to be a problem with any other fancy displays. Otherwise, this seems the best way to display MP3 downloads unless you can walk me through some CSS editing (I tried editing code in the extra shortcode plugin, and nothing happened… weird.)
Additionally, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a new shortcode or additional plugin (I’d even pay for it at the right price) to better handle individual song downloads. One with all info and a maybe a small icon on one to two lines. At its ugliest, I’d love to be able to do something like this:
http://vorn.co.nz/vorns-modern-classics
Even better, an additional faster (semi-automated) way to turn songs into products would hold great value as a plugin.
Thanks for your help,
Shawn
December 16, 2010 at 6:07 pm #27489pwradioMemberOh yeah… I reinstalled both the shortcode and main estore software after playing with the CSS, so I know that’s not the issue. i.e. I didn’t break it!
December 17, 2010 at 3:00 am #27490amin007ParticipantWe will work on adding a new fancy display that looks similar to this one:
http://vorn.co.nz/vorns-modern-classics
Regarding the CSS issue for fancy style 2… can you please do this theme test explained here and get back to me?
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/test-to-identy-a-conflicting-theme-or-plugin
December 17, 2010 at 3:18 am #27491pwradioMember– Thanks for the response! I have already done these things. I have added plugins since, but this started with just the estore plugin activated. I switched over to WordPress default 2010 to check and it was doing it there as well as in Weaver.
– Another issue: I haven’t gotten as far as test ordering a product on live paypal yet, but I am concerned at a couple of things. One is that I can’t mast the quantity of physical CDs without giving it a no-quantity status. Is this normal? Also, I turned off PayPal under settings and it still brings me to paypal when I hit the button.
– I am concerned (and wondering if there is a connection with the above statement) because I am using multisite. I discovered that I needed to add a “2” into my database name for the CSV import, and I was wondering if there was anything else that wasn’t moving properly due to the multisite installation. Any precedence for this?
Give that fancy MP3 display a slick MP3 import to sale function and you’ll make me very happy! If this shop picks up,,, well, thats a lot of non-automated work.
Thanks again,
Shawn
December 17, 2010 at 5:31 am #27492amin007ParticipantWhat do you mean by “I can’t mast the quantity of physical CDs without giving it a no-quantity status”?
December 17, 2010 at 6:20 am #27493pwradioMemberI had to think about that.
Mask*
If I have a stock quantity, it shows up in the product display. I can’t keep that number private unless it is set at no number.
December 17, 2010 at 11:59 pm #27494amin007ParticipantI see… most people like to show how many quantities are left if they are selling a product that is limited. So by default if you specify a limit on inventory for a product is displays the available qty in the display. It won’t be hard to hide that in the product display. Let me know which product display you are using and I will tell you what to do.
I also need to take a look at your site to see why that weird CSS stuff is going on for fancy 2 display. I will send you an email to get site access.
December 18, 2010 at 12:53 am #27495pwradioMemberThanks. Information sent.
Fancy 2 seems to be the favorite so far, but I would like the option to make the changes on all.
Additionally, how can I shrink the height of fancy2?
Thanks,
Shawn

February 16, 2011 at 3:23 am #27497dooncanMemberHi,
Have just purchased estore plugin to sell mp3s on my website. I was very interested to read above that you will be working on a new fancy theme similar to:
http://vorn.co.nz/vorns-modern-classics
How is this coming along? Is it possible to add a ‘buy cd’ and ‘buy mp3’ buttons to the top of the page, so that people had the option to purchase the physical CD and the whole digital album along with individual song downloads. Similar to how cdbaby have here:
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lucindablackbear2
Loving the estore plugin – very glad to have found it!!
Thanks!
February 16, 2011 at 3:39 am #27498wpCommerceModeratorUsing the fancy7 shortcode you should be able to display the mp3s similar to:
http://vorn.co.nz/vorns-modern-classics
But you need to have the WP eStore extra shortcode plugin installed on your site. You will find all the shortcodes and the extra shortcode plugin here:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wp-estore-shortcodes-and-functions-reference-460
February 18, 2011 at 5:18 am #27499dooncanMemberI have the fancy7 short code on my mp3 page:
http://www.themusicalscientist.com/music
But, as you can see, the price, add to cart button, title and audio player are all bunched up on the left hand side over several lines. On the sites mentioned above (http://vorn.co.nz/vorns-modern-classics & http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/okeedokeebrothers2) the track title, audio player, price and buy now button are all on one line. This makes for a much more compact way of displaying the tracks you have for sale. If I wanted to display all of the available mp3s on a 15 track album, using the fancy7 method would mean that the track list would spread very far down the page.
Is it possible for me to amend the code myself to display my albums like the following website:
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/okeedokeebrothers2
Where would I find the code that I would need to tweek?
Thanks,
Dooncan
February 18, 2011 at 5:23 am #27500dooncanMemberI forgot to mention. When I use the fancy7 shortcode, my audio player doesn’t play the track – the green bar loads instantly and it says ‘buffering’ but never plays. It works in other fancy shortcodes…
Not sure what’s going on?
February 19, 2011 at 12:50 am #27501amin007ParticipantYeah you can modify the display. Pleas open the “shortcode_include.php” file from the extra shortcodes plugin and find the following function:
function show_wp_eStore_fancy7
This function is what shows the fancy7 display.
“my audio player doesn’t play the track” – this means the audio file URL is not correct. Enter the URL in the browser window to make sure you do not have a 404 page.
February 19, 2011 at 10:54 am #27502dooncanMemberThanks. I’ll look at the code now.
Regarding the audio player not working, I don’t think I made myself clear enough. The URL is correct and works just fine when I use other fancy shortcodes – it is only when I use the fancy7 shortcode that I get the problem – it is a fancy7 shortcode specific problem.
Thanks.
