Tagged: fsockopen error, IPN, PayPal
Since late yesterday, most transactions processed through PayPal are failing to complete. Although the payments are processed, and the IPNs are showing a 200 status within PayPal, that’s where things end. I enabled the debug logs; here are the log entries for one of these transactions:
[11/13/2013 2:37 PM] – SUCCESS :Paypal Class Initiated by 173.0.81.1 eStore Version: 6.9.8.9
[11/13/2013 2:37 PM] – SUCCESS :Post string : I have removed this string to protect customer privacy.
[11/13/2013 2:37 PM] – FAILURE :Connection to http://www.paypal.com failed. fsockopen error no. :
[11/13/2013 2:37 PM] – SUCCESS :Paypal class finished.
Is this an error on PayPal’s end, or is it on my website’s end? Transactions through Stripe have been processing correctly without a hitch. Thanks.
It’s something your hosting provider needs to fix/undo…

Alright, thanks. They have temporarily disabled the firewall on the server to see if that’s the issue.
