I’ve been having some recent problems whereby payments for digital download products were going through fine, but the email with the encrypted download links were not being received. Tried a ‘fresh’ install of eStore and now I’m getting the above error in the ipn_handle log – although this part seemed to work yesterday. Nothing has changed with my hosting platform recently, with regards to ‘fsockopen’ which was the only other resolution that I’ve found from previous posts. When I ran the Debug yesterday evening it all worked fine, there was just an error with finding the ‘download.php’ which I’ve now corrected with the fresh upload – but this has caused this new error.

What other scenarios should I look at in resolving this.

Please post the complete log entry line, and a few before and after it.

What version of eStore plugin are you using?

I’m using the eStore version 6.9.1.7 – I uploaded the up-to-date version a few days ago, as there were problems with purchases not triggering the customer digital download email or registering in the stats, although customers had received Paypal confirmation of payments. I checked the Debug at that point and it all came out as ‘SUCCESS’, but I found that the ‘download, php’ file was not being located properly. I resolved that issue with this fresh upload, but now it seems to being referring to a Paypal connection problem?

Hi, When you get an error such as “fsockopen error” this usually means that there might be some issue with your server.

Please talk to your hosting provider and ask them if they have blocked or changed any functionality which might be causing fsockopen errors.

Went back to the hosting company and they made some adjustments on their firewall and this has resolved the issue. Many thanks for your help.
