Hi,
Installed it all, working with the paypal sandbox, got the PDT identity token, the thank you page is set up ok, put in the [wp_eStore_display_transaction_result]and [wp_eStore_transaction_result:end] (page is public)
At end of transaction I get to the thank you page, nothing is shown about the product, however.
Email says:
WordPress sales@whydidthecancerdisappear.com via hp98.hostpapa.com

Please fully read this email as it will explain everything you need to know to address any issue that maybe occuring (if there are any)!
The post payment verification for a payment failed. This could happen for one of the following reasons:
1. The fund for the payment have not cleared in PayPal yet (no need to do anything as the digital product will be delivered once the fund clears).
2. Someone maybe trying to scam a purchase! (no worries… WP eStore got your back
3. You have made a mistake somewhere (please see the failure reason section below to find out more details about this).

For some reasons the payments are under review. When I go to the paypal account and clear that, the emails confirming the sale come through.
From the paypal side I am not sure why this is. The seller and buyer have accounts in different currencies.
2nd update:
For some reason, my shopping cart is still full after the payment went through and I end up on the Thank you page. it does not go back to 0. Any reason for that?

New PDT identity token entered;
Return URL Thank you page in place and public: http://whydidthecancerdisappear.com/?page_id=580
Still some remaining issues – checked settings many times, so must be overlooking or incompetent (likely)
1. Cart does not empty after buying
2. Payment does not arrive in merchant account. (paypal process seems totally ok, and gets me back to my Return URL ok, however does not fill in the placeholders

3. Seems that plugin does get message from Paypal, and subsequently mails
4. However,
1. Does not post on Thank you page
2. Does not empty the cart.
5. Paypal Seller account does not receive the money
6. Paypal buyer does pay out – so money goes nowhere, it seems

Step By Step Setup Instructions
Step 1: Make a post-payment return page (example, a Transaction Result or Thank You page). Use the URL of this page in the “Return URL” field of the settings menu of eStore. This is the page where your customers are going to land when they return from PayPal after the payment. Make sure you do not make this page a private page (private pages can only be accessed by someone who is logged into WordPress)! It doesn’t matter if someone goes to page without making the payment (the links only appear after they make the payment).
Step 2: Add whatever message you want to add to this “Thank You” page and then put one of the following shortcodes where you want to display the transaction result (product download links):
[wp_eStore_display_transaction_result]
or
[wp_eStore_transaction_result:end]
Step 3: Enable PDT feature in your PayPal profile. If you don’t know how to enable PDT and get the PDT Identity Token then this document should help (check the “Activating PDT” section on that page).
Step 4: Make sure you have enabled “Auto Return” option too . You can enable the “Auto Return” option from the same PayPal profile page where you enable PDT.
Step 5: Specify the PDT Identity Token that you received from PayPal in the “PDT Identity Token” field of the PayPal Payment Gateway Settings menu of WP eStore.
Step 6: Finally, enable the “Thank You” page display feature in eStore by checking the “Enable Transaction Result Display” in the settings (Post Payment Process Settings) menu of WP eStore.
The transaction result will display the message that the customers are also going to get in the email. It will have a list of products they ordered with a unique encrypted download link for each digital product so it can be downloaded instantly.
Important Note
Please note that some of the comments below are out of date. Over the course of time PayPal has made changes so we had to adjust the plugin accordingly (for example: currently you need to have auto redirect enabled in your PayPal account for this feature). The documentation above is up to date, so follow the steps outlined above to use this feature

April 26, 2012 at 12:46 pm #44440adminKeymasterEverything is working except PayPal’s PDT so focus on that settings of your PayPal account. PayPal didn’t used to send PDT data to URLs like the following:

They may have changed that restriction. If they haven’t then you will need to change your permalink structure so the “Thank you page looks like the following (you can change permalink structure from the permalink settings of WordPress):

in despair, created new merchant account in my sandbox with Paypal
transferred the settings…
And everything works.
No idea what has changed – apart from that paypal account now having 500 in there, the previous one was zero. Cannot think of anything else.
