My website is beatsforever.com and i have added a checkout url however, when i want to checkout, it skips the checkout page and goes directly to the payment gateway.

I tried using the fancy redirect but that seems to only work with paypal and even then goes directly to paypal without entering the checkout page.

It is really important to me that the checkout page works as i want to use it to give additional information and upsell.

The url of the checkout page I created is beatsforever.com/checkout.

Please note that i do not want my customers to be directed to the checkout page anytime they add a product but only when they want to complete the purchase.

What kind of button are you using? “Buy Now” and “Subscribe” buttons go directly to the payment gateway. Only “Add to Cart” buttons first go to a checkout page.

Only “add to cart” buttons. You can see for yourself at beatsforever.com/store

Each time I click the “Add to Cart” buttons on your page, the items show up in the cart at the bottom of the page. Then if I click the checkout button at the bottom of the cart, it takes me to the 2CheckOut checkout page. Am I missing something?

I want a check out page where i can upsell products and give promotional codes. but even with the checkout page option enabled and a checkout url, it does not redirect to the checkout page first.

I want the checkout page to work!

@stephencaosemene, Please install a fresh copy of eStore plugin and see how it goes:

    https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins

Can you please confirm that you have done the following steps:

Also, share a link to your product page so we can see the behavior.

I can add an item to the cart then see the cart on your store page. If I click on checkout, it takes me to the payment gateway. So that page is working fine.

Are you 100% sure that you did steps 5 and 6 from the following page? Those steps are required if you want the users to go to a specific checkout page after they add item to the cart:

What is your specific checkout page URL?

beatsforever.com/checkout is the url of the checkout page.

I did not include the automatic redirection as i only want the customers to go to the checkout page when they are about to finalize their purchase.

I also did not include a compact shopping cart in the sidebar(actually i have no sidebar) because the sidebar misbehaves on smaller screens.

Your site is working how it should given your current setup. Are you expecting a different behavior than the following?

    1) You add items to the cart, the item is added to the cart.

    2) You can see the cart where you have the shopping cart shortcode (in your case it is on that same page).

    3) Then from the shopping cart you click the “checkout” button and it takes you to the payment gateway page.

eStore has fast checkout concept (so your customers are not having to go through many pages before they make payment). Read the following page for more explanation:

My understanding of the settings is that if I check

    Automatic redirection to checkout page

If checked the visitor will be redirected to the Checkout page after a product is added to the cart. You must enter a URL in the Checkout Page field for this to work.

that customers will be redirected to a check out page after each item they choose. To me this will increase clicks customers will need to complete to order multiple items. For example, I order 1 apple, I am redirected to the check out page. I still want to order pears and bananas. So, I need to click back to the product page needed to find pears. When I add 3 pears I am redirected to the checkout page. I still need to order 2 bananas, which requires that I return to products to add my last few items. For me, this is cumbersome.

I would like for customers to click to add items. I can display a cart summary in the side bar area using the short codes you provide. (There is a cart summary short code.)

Once customer complete their ordering, I would like for them to see the check out page before proceeding to the payment. The only option I found are the buttons that direct customer to payment gateway. What am I missing?

The default behavior should work fine for what you are trying to do (don’t configure the redirect to checkout page). The default behavior is the following:

    1) You click the “Add to Cart” button.

    2) The item gets added to the cart and the visitor stays on the same page.

    3) If you have the shopping cart on the sidebar, they can see it there.

    4) They can add more items to the cart from that page if they want to before they do a checkout.
