estore – manual checkout is not charging customers

I have estore to sell ebooks. Since I want to offer my affiliates a way to download the ebooks for free I set up a 100% coupon code and then set up manual checkout in addition to paypal. However, if a customer uses manual check out (even without the coupon code) they are not charged but are sent the download email. On the estore “manage customers” it says unpaid and yet they receive the download email.

How can I fix this, so they have to enter their cc info and actually pay for the ebooks?

Which of those methods are you using for your site?

I’m using option 2 – at least I think I am. I only want to give them the item free when they use the correct discount code. I don’t want it to be free everytime anyone choses manual checkout.

Are you actually going to use the manual checkout for some valid orders or you will only use it to offer some free products?

I only installed it so I could use a 100% discount code for products that normally cost money. I do not have any “free” products. However, I would like my affiliates to be able to download an ebook when they want to review one by using a 100% discount code instead of me emailing them a copy. I do not need the manual check out for any items other than a 100% discount code.

okay good. Simply go to the eStore payment gateway settings and UNCHECK the following two options and save it:

Use Multiple Payment Gateways

Use Manual Payment Option

Keep the “edirect to Manual Checkout For Zero Amount Purchase” option enabled/checked.

Now, your normal customers won’t see the manual checkout option in the shopping cart. Users who use the 100% discount will magically get sent to the manual checkout when they click the checkout button.
