There are 3 different ways you can setup and use WP eStore’s manual checkout feature.
We have identified 3 main different ways our users like to handle the manual/offline checkout. One of the following methods should help you determine which option is suitable for you based on your business needs.
i) Manual Checkout Setup Option 1
The first one is very basic and useful when you don’t want to do any automated post payment processing tasks. This option is helpful for businesses that have a physical store and mostly handle the sales/transaction offline.
This is how the manual checkout flow works for this option:
1) Your customer goes to your store and checks out via the manual checkout option.
2) The customer gets an email that contains all the items he ordered.
3) The customer also gets some “instructions” in the email. You specify the instructions in the “Directions for the Customer” field under the manual checkout settings section. This instruction could be something like the following:
Come to our store [address of your store] with the money to pickup your item.
ii) Manual Checkout Setup Option 2
The 2nd setup option is helpful for users who want some post payment processing to happen as soon as the customer submits the manual checkout form.
An example usage of this option could be for a user who is trying to give some products for free via the manual checkout option:

Another example usage of this option is when you are selling products to a closed community and you can rely on the users to always make the payment later (so you kind of give the product in good faith).
You can go to eStore’s manual checkout settings area and check the options that you want to enable for this option. For example: Perform Autoresponder Signup, Create membership account, Give product download links etc.
iii) Manual Checkout Setup Option 3
The 3rd setup option is useful for users who want to keep the order in a pending state/status when the manual checkout form is submitted. Once the customer makes the payment, the admin changes the order status to “paid” and all the post payment processing tasks take place. When the admin changes the status of the order to “paid”, it works as if a PayPal payment notification for a product sale came in.
Please make a payment to the following Bank account [account details]
4) Once the customer makes the payment, the admin changes the order status to paid in eStore’s order management interface and all the post payment processing tasks get executed.
How to setup and use manual checkout option 3
Step 1) Download and install the WP eStore Order management addon:

Step 2) Make sure the following options are turned off in manual checkout settings (they are off by default but if you enabled them then you should turn them off):
– Create Membership Account
– Perform Autoresponder Signup
– Automatically Award Affiliate Commission
– Send Product Download Links in the Email
– Automatically Update Customer & Products Database
All of the above tasks will take place when you approve the manual payment in the order management addon later.
Step 3) When an order is submitted via the manual checkout option, it will go under the order management addon with a status of
"Manual Co Unpaid"
. Wait for the customer to make the payment. Once the payment is cleared, edit this order and set the status to"Manual Co Paid"
. At this time the customer will receive the post payment sale email with the confirmed order details (with any necessary download links). -
