I don’t want the ‘wp estore’ plugin to automatically send an email to the buyer after they checkout via manual gateway method. So how could I stop the plugin from sending emails to buyer after they checkout? Surely there is box that can be checked to stop this, but I can’t find it.
January 20, 2013 at 10:28 pm #53214PeterMemberUncheck the “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” checkbox which will disable the first email that gets sent from eStore after purchase.
October 2, 2017 at 9:31 pm #53215PatrickSpectatorI also want to stop emails from being sent automatically via Manual Checkout but the “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” does not seem to stop them. That option is found on the “Email Settings” tab. I do not see that same option on the “Payment Gateway Settings” tab which controls the manual checkout email functions. Thank you for any assistance.
October 3, 2017 at 12:04 am #53216adminKeymasterThe following post is a good one to read when using the manual checkout option:
There is only email that will be send to the customer because it is fundamental to the manual checkout process. This email can be customized from the following field of Manual Checkout settings:
Directions for the Customer
I should be able to make it so the “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” option is extended to manual checkout also. However, I would like to hear your reasons for wanting to disable the manual checkout email.
October 3, 2017 at 1:46 am #53217PatrickSpectatorThanks for the reply. I want to disable the email that is sent out in manual checkout because I’m using wpEstore to give out a free discount code using the serial data to store the codes and instantly display the code on screen upon request. The email that is being sent out has been customized but the way estore displays the product data in the email is confusing and just isn’t needed. I would like to disable the email completely.
October 3, 2017 at 3:43 am #53218PatrickSpectatorI also want to ad that ideally I would have used a squeeze form but since it is a free code I am providing the serial data would not transfer unless I charged for it and went through a payment gateway. But, I needed the codes to be available for free. I had to also use the manual checkout form builder to customize the fields for only name and email address. I have only explained part of my use to you to give you an idea of what I’m doing. I’m also using wpAffiliate and wpEmember. If you need more info please private message me. Thank you.
October 3, 2017 at 5:22 am #53219adminKeymasterI understand. Just to confirm, if make it so the “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” option is extended to manual checkout also, will that work for you? Or you need something that is specific to manual checkout only (while keeping all the other gateways as is)?
October 3, 2017 at 3:10 pm #53220PatrickSpectatorThe Manual Checkout is the only option that I am using for this project. Thank you!
October 4, 2017 at 12:53 am #53221adminKeymasterokay I have made the change and sent you an updated copy of the plugin so you can use it.
October 4, 2017 at 2:59 am #53222PatrickSpectatorWow, thank you! I’ll make the changes tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Very much appreciated. Thanks again!
October 4, 2017 at 2:56 pm #53223PatrickSpectatorI updated the plugin and everything appears to be working correctly. I requested a discount code and received it instantly on screen and the email notification did not get sent out. That’s exactly what I wanted it to do. Thank you very much!
October 4, 2017 at 3:33 pm #53224PatrickSpectatorActually, the notification email just showed up. I still only see the “Send Notification Email” checkbox on the Email Settings tab. It is unchecked. Does that work for the Manual Checkout too or were you going to put that checkbox option on the Manual Checkout tab? I’m asking because I don’t see it and am unsure how to make the plugin stop sending notification emails for the Manual Checkout option. Thank you.
October 5, 2017 at 11:17 pm #53225adminKeymasterThe name of the checkbox is the following. You can find it in the “Email Settings” menu of the plugin:
Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase
Did you uncheck that checkbox?
Please also enable the debug option in the plugin and then do a test transaction via manual checkout. This will show us what the plugin is doing after the checkout.
October 6, 2017 at 4:20 pm #53226PatrickSpectatorThank you for your response.
1. Here is what I have done. I deactivated and uninstalled my eStore plugin and installed and activated the new updated copy that you sent to me by email.
2. I found the, “Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase” and made sure it was unchecked and did a test transaction. The notification email still came through. I put a checkmark on it and saved it to activate it. I then unchecked it and saved again and did another test transaction and the notification email came through again.
3. I turned on debug, cleared the debug files and did another test transaction. The notification email came through again.
Below is the debug info for eStore_post_payment_debug.log
