Hello, I bought the eStore Plugin as I was told with the simple shopping cart plugin I could not add custom fields to the order while instead with the eStore Plugin I could do that.
I need to ask the customer for the address and the tax code (to generate invoice) before going to paypal for tha payment.
How can I do that ?
Thanks in advance for your help

Before we go any further…
Please read this:

After reading the above referenced thread, do you REALLY need invoicing for your business? Or are you just misusing the term “invoicing?”
Remember, if you require payment BEFORE delivering anything, it’s NOT “invoicing.”

– is it possible to add a form for collecting customer info (whatever they are) before going to paypal for payment and add these custom info into the order details ?
I was told this was possible.
Thanks again

What exactly are you selling, that requires the custom input?
June 5, 2015 at 12:13 pm #70336antlombMemberThanks for your answer. No, this add a single text field to the checkout process, while I need a form to collect several info before and not after the payment.
I’m selling physycal products, and I want the customer to fill a form with address, phone number, tax number etc… without relying on paypal.
Thanks again

June 5, 2015 at 2:07 pm #70337wzpModeratorSome of the information you are going to request will be redundant (name, address, phone), because PayPal (or anyone else you use) will simply ask them to re-enter it; depending on the payment method used. This tends to annoy customers.
The only way to get the redundant information without annoying customers, and still use PayPal (having your cake & eating it too), would be to upgrade to PayPal Pro and do the payment processing on your own site. This requires the use of the Payment Gateway Bundle addon for eStore:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wp-payment-gateway-bundle-plugin?ap_id=TheAssurer
That way, you only have to ask for the information one time.
Of course, I’m assuming you want to use an external payment gateway to process payments, right? Otherwise, you can use the manual payment gateway, collect all the information you want, and have then manually collect the money.
June 5, 2015 at 11:30 pm #70338adminKeymasterWe already have a process for selling physical products. The plugin will collect the address information from the payment gateway as part of the checkout and it will be available to you after the customer makes the payment. So why do you want to collect address separately?
Are you not getting the address of the customer after the payment at the moment? If not then that means there is a setup mistake somewhere and we can look at that.
June 17, 2015 at 9:45 am #70339createclearSpectatorI have a similar question, in the Paypal gateway, customers are not Required to enter their phone number but we need this information for delivery of physical goods, is there any way to request this information?
If the customer choose manual checkout, I can get all information accordingly, but I can’t get their phone number if they choose Paypal checkout.
Thanks!
