Hi, we are using authorize.net arb and the payment gateway. As an aside, we are a membership site using WishList member.
We have a number of credit cards that are expiring shortly and are wondering how members can update their credit card information themselves?
Or do members have to contact us and provide their credit card details (not a great solution for a website dealing with financial professionals)
Or do we get them to repurchase the same product/membership to restart their transaction?
What are the best practices?

You have to do it for them.

It’s an Authorize.net “thing.”
However, if your Payment Gateway is PayPal, things are different.
January 19, 2017 at 3:52 am #71149slstayMemberI am having the same problem with Authorize.net. Would using Stripe change that? Or is it the same issue with Stripe?
January 19, 2017 at 4:55 am #71150wzpModeratorPayPal is still the recommended solution to this particular situation.
January 19, 2017 at 5:04 pm #71151slstayMemberOkay, I just submitted a custom dev request to see what it would cost to add this ability to Stripe.
February 21, 2017 at 3:08 pm #71152metmetSpectatorHello,
I have exactly the same request as you with stripe. Customer cards that have expired, I do not wish to have in their possession their banking information.
Have you had an answer as to the cost for adding this feature?
February 21, 2017 at 4:23 pm #71153wzpModeratorI “think,” that with Stripe, they (Stripe) “automagically” update card expiration dates:
There’s no extra work required, and this feature works with most MasterCard, Discover, and Visa cards—without this improvement, over half of the cards stored with Stripe in the last year would stop working by 2016 if they weren’t updated.
February 27, 2017 at 1:52 pm #71154metmetSpectatorHi
I contacted Stripe who provided me with this link: https://stripe.com/docs/recipes/updating-customer-cards.
The problem is that it is only valid when it is integrated in php, I told them that I went through a plugin and they told me to contact the developers of the plugin.
There is the updating of the cards but also the change of the card, so continue to pay its subscription with a different bank card.
Do you think you can develop this option? Should I write a mail to make this request?
February 28, 2017 at 1:26 am #71155wpCommerceModerator@metmet, We will check their integration code and get back to you.
March 7, 2017 at 10:14 am #71156metmetSpectatorHi,
I come to the news! I have clients who are blocked because their card to expire and I can not allow them to change their credit card number without sending me this information that is confidential.
July 4, 2018 at 6:04 pm #71157clem90MemberHi,
I am also interested for this option to let the customer update his card with Stripe subscription.
For estore or eMember it will be very good
Thanks
