Is there any way to allow a customer to fill in a form based on an item number in the cart prior to submitting the complete cart to paypal?
December 18, 2013 at 10:20 pm #59726adminKeymasterWhat data will be collected using this form?
December 19, 2013 at 4:23 pm #59727wisecarverMemberIt is needed for a registration form for reenactors prior to them paying for their places (www.ccbf.us/wp)
December 19, 2013 at 10:08 pm #59728wzpModeratorHere are two suggestions:
1. Add $0.01 shipping to the event products. PayPal will then collect the name and address information and then send it back to you.

2. Turn the event products into subscriptions, using eMember. Capture the required information during registration.
Apart from these two suggestions, it looks like what you are seeking is a variation on this thread…

December 21, 2013 at 5:41 am #59729wrcaccessSpectatorI did this once successfully, however, when I add this title to the estore add product button – Product 1 – Referred by [wp_affiliate_referrer]
The [wp_affiliate_referrer] does show the affiliate id in paypal description. It shows Product 1 – [wp_affiliate_referrer]
It used to show for eg Product 1 – Referred by Tips
December 21, 2013 at 10:39 pm #59730adminKeymasterYou are using a shortcode inside the product name. The plugin doesn’t support shortcode inside the product name at this stage.
If a sale come from a referrer, the plugin will capture that data in the admin dashboard. So I am not sure what you are trying to achieve by doing that. Are you just trying to capture the referrer value in your PayPal account?
December 22, 2013 at 12:01 am #59731wrcaccessSpectatorAdmin, the plugin does capture the short code in the estore product name. Eg is on
[http://www.traveliate.org] – It works on all the products I have placed.
On member-login tab and on traveliate.com/advertise link
However it only shows as – [wp_affiliate_referrer] in the PayPal description on another site the plugin is installed in. It does not translate to the ref id. I spent 2 days trying to find out why.
What I am trying to achieve is the buyer PayPal will show the payment made to a certain referrer. Yes, I am trying to capture ref value in PayPal product description.
It works on the site I provided below, but not on another site.
Can you advise? It seems even you are unaware that the shortcode does work in product names.
Many thanks for a reply to this query.
December 23, 2013 at 11:05 pm #59732adminKeymasterThe [wp_affiliate_referrer] shortcode comes from the WP Affiliate plugin. Do you have that plugin installed on this other site where it doesn’t work? If you do then what version of the affiliate plugin do you have on that site?
