Tagged: paypal recurring payment
I set up a recurring payment last month that should have debited this afternoon if you look at the exact timing of the monthly clock. I did not get the payment so I called Paypal. They show no record in the *customer’s* account for a recurring payment set up to me.
In addition, my webhost this afternoon was working on the server and their “update” caused my site to crash. My question is, would the site being down affect the recurring payment in Paypal, or is that irrelevant? Once I get my site back up, how can I get this recurring payment established within eStore, because apparently the first time it only created a one-time-only payment. Thanks.
“would the site being down affect the recurring payment in Paypal” – No, it won’t affect the money from being charged by PayPal.
You simply create a subscription button using eStore and when someoney pays using that button a recurring payment will be established. This document explains how to create a subscription button using eStore:

I think I see the problem. I did not use a “subscription” button code; used a fancy button instead, so apparently it only created a single purchase even though all the subscription fields were filled in correctly…?
You fill in the data when you configure the product then you can use one of the 4 types of buttons (depending on what you want) for that product:
– Add to Cart
– Buy Now
– Subsription
– Download Now
This post explains the difference between them:
There are various shortcodes out there that you can use to achieve whatever type of button you want to use for whatever display. If you go over this shortcodes list it will give you a good idea:
