Tips and Tricks HQ Support Portal › Forums › WP eMember › eStore + eMember payment plan duration different to membership duration
HI! I am considering offering a payment plan for one of my membership levels. It would be payments over 3 months for 1 year membership.
I’ve read this post https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/membership-payment-difference-between-buy-now-and-subscription-buttons – but does the subscription still work if I have an expiry date set?
Thank you!!
Yes, you can hook up a subscription plan with a fixed term membership level.
Lets say your membership level duration is one year. Create a subscription button that charges the client 4 times over 1 year. If you were using eStore then you would create a subscription product similar to the following:
Recurring amount: $ XX
Recurring Billing Cycle: 3 Months
Recurring Billing Count: 4
Thank you!!
What about if I want them to pay the total by month 3 for a 1 year membership?
So, say the full upfront amount is $300 for 1 year, or they can pay $100 pm for the first 3 months and then have access for the entire year.
Also, just considering another scenario – can their account be disabled until they are paid in full? A bit like a layby system – you pay off your access over 3 months and as soon as the final payment is received your membership is activated and you have full access.
Thank you so much for your help!!
Your subscription payment can be broken down any way like (I was just giving an example earlier).
There is no way to automatically keep the account blocked until all the subscription payments are paid. You can manually block the member account and then activate it when all the payment is received.
