I just discovered that I cannot edit any products. I went into a product to uncheck “show quantity field” button, saved it, then loaded the page it is on and it did not change. I tried this with several products.
So I followed the instructions given in the forum to re-load the plugin. I am running the current version of WP (3.7.1) I deactivated/deleted the eStore plugin, then downloaded a new one & FTP’d it to the plugin directory & activated. I still cannot edit any products.
December 2, 2013 at 2:03 am #59368mbrsolutionSpectatorHello Bruce you might have a conflict with a plugin or theme. Please read the following URL
Are you running a cache plugin?
December 2, 2013 at 4:55 am #59369BruceMemberNo. No cache plugin. I was able to get the change to take on two products but then I tried to make the same change on another one and it does not work. The box is ticked but the quantity field does not show. Previously on these products, the field was not ticked and it did not show which is correct. I was trying to add this field. But I tried a couple other changes for example on the variation and it also does not show the change.
I tried deactivating several plugins and it does not work. Also tried loading the page in a different browser in case it was a firefox cache problem – tried it in IE and its not there.
I just tried one more thing. After saving the change to the product in eStore, I went to the gallery and recovered the image from backup. Now the change is there. Is there any way to avoid having to do this extra step? Or 2 steps, because after i recover an image I’ll have to set the watermark again. I don’t understand why recovering the image from backup should effect the product details.
December 2, 2013 at 11:03 pm #59370adminKeymaster@Bruce, This usually happens for the following reason (that doesn’t seem to be the case for you though):
I am actually not sure what you mean by the following:
“After saving the change to the product in eStore, I went to the gallery and recovered the image from backup”
What gallery are you referring to? After you make changes to a product and save it, can you go back to editing that product and see the changed you made previously? I am trying to understand if the product save/update is failing or on the front end it is not taking the updated values.
December 3, 2013 at 5:37 am #59371BruceMemberI’m talking about the gallery whose pictures are my products in eStore.
What I meant was I went to the gallery tab in my dashboard, under “manage galleries”, there is a link by each photo ID# to recover it from backup. When you upload a picture to a NextGen gallery it creates a backup of the image. I recovered it (that doesn’t change anything I had in the title or description fields) and then refreshed the published page and the change was visible.
The change I wanted to make was to uncheck the Show Quantity box. I did and saved it…then I can go back into that product and the box remains unchecked…but when I refresh the webpage where this gallery & product are, that quantity box is still there – even though the box is unchecked. I tried closing the browser tab, opening it in a new window, etc but the change is not visible online. It is reflected in the product details though.
December 3, 2013 at 9:26 am #59372BruceMemberI just did another test. I changed 5 products using the “edit product” link and saved it. Then I opened the page that contains these pictures. The quantity box was still there. Then, I went into the cPanel admin area of my website, and went to the phpMyadmin application, opened my database, and scrolled down to the table “wp_estore_tbl” and looked for those product ID#s, and under the column “show qty” the ones I changed were 0, the others were 1. So this means the edit is definitely reflected in the table, so as far as I can tell there should be no reason for that quantity box to be on there!
Now, I went to the admin panel in wordpress for my NextGen photo gallery and picked one of the 5 images (products) that I had changed, and clicked on “recover from backup”. all this does is load a fresh copy of the image. Then when I refreshed the page, all 5 of the ones I edited were showing without the quantity box!
This is the page: [http://flightlineaviationmedia.com/photos/boeing/dreamliner/]
Really weird. And, for what its worth, this issue is not only with the “show quantity” box. If I change something else, like for example the text “Choose a Size” in the product variation – I changed it to “Pick a Size” and went thru the same procedure as above, the change did not show on the live webpage until I recovered the image in NextGen. This happens even if I make the edit directly on the table itself. Its almost like eStore is not playing nice with NextGen.
December 3, 2013 at 10:19 pm #59373adminKeymasterYeah that behavior is very weird. I will take a look inside your site. I have sent you an email.
December 4, 2013 at 5:30 am #59374BruceMemberOk, thanks. I will reply to that email.
