I love you products! Thank you for all of your dedicated work to them and to us!
I’m using eStore to deliver and sell digital products on the “public side” and the “membership side” of my website. All of the available products are digital downloads. On the public side of the website, I have digital download products available for purchase and some products are free downloads. On the membership side, all of the products in each membership are available for free download.
When we go through the purchase process for products that are for sale, everything works like a charm. Rather than provide the download link on the “thank you” page, we have provided instructions to look for it in the email. When you click the link in the email, the product downloads perfectly (whether you are logged into WordPress or not).
If you visit [http://hrtoolkitsonline.com/hr-forms/] and click on one of the free download (government) forms, it won’t download.
If you log into any of the membership plans, the download isn’t working either.
However, if you are logged into WordPress, it works like a charm.
I’ve tested it in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Windows IE.
Help! Please!
Thank you so much,
SherĂ
July 19, 2013 at 11:25 pm #56707wzpModeratorWhen you say the “download isn’t working,” what exactly do you mean?
Please enable the debug logs, run a test, and then examine the Download_Manager_Debug.log file and report back. The following post has more explanation:

BTW, the downloading does not require the user to be logged into WordPress. It is likely you have another plugin that is interfering with the standard download process. Have you recently installed any new plugins or changed settings in them? This is a good post to check:

July 20, 2013 at 4:20 pm #56708sheritaberMemberHi,
Thank you for looking at this.
I cleared the debug file as suggested in instructions. Logged out of WordPress and attempted to download approximately 10 different (complimentary) products.
1. When you click on the estore download link on any of the webpages that have complimentary downloads, the page responds as if it is processing a command, and then no download occurs. The typical download behavior that any browsers would have when you are downloading an item, does not occur during testing.
Immediately after pressing the download estore button you’ll see “waiting on hrtoolkitsonline.com” appears bottom left in the browser, then it goes away, the page scrolls itself back to the top and that is the end of the process. No download occurs. I’ve searched the entire computer to see if it is going somewhere. When I look at the list of downloads that have occurred in the browser, the downloads I am attempting to download are not there.
You can try it here. Scroll down to a complimentary download product: [http://hrtoolkitsonline.com/hr-forms/]
2. Looked at the debug files and this is what they all said: [07/20/2013 3:37 PM] – Advisory : Log file reset. (even after I’ve attempted approximately 10 downloads)
3. This is the shortcode we are using: [wp_eStore_download_now_button id=107]
4. I only shared that the download works perfectly when we are logged in to WordPress so you had knowledge that it works in that situation, but not for a website visitor or member.
I am nearly 100% certain that we checked to see if the product downloaded properly when we/admins were not logged in and it worked. I can’t say for sure…
On 7/18, we updated to WordPress 3.5.2 and updated plugins, as well.
Coincidentally, I was doing a walkthrough with the client on 7/19 and discovered the complimentary download wasn’t working.
Will you please take a peak and see what you think?
July 20, 2013 at 4:23 pm #56709sheritaberMemberBTW, I’m using v 6.9.7.8
I’ve requested the “automatic” update, but I haven’t received it.
July 21, 2013 at 12:08 am #56710adminKeymasterHi, I have a feeling you have some HTML errors/mistakes on that page.
Please do the following test for me:
1) Create a new WordPress page (just a temporary test page).
2) Then enter the following shortcode in this page:
[wp_eStore_download_now_button id=107]
3) Use the download button in that page. Does it work?
4) Share the URL of the test page you created so I can check something.
Thanks
July 22, 2013 at 12:37 pm #56711sheritaberMemberYes. It does work. Here’s the page: [http://hrtoolkitsonline.com/test-product/]
We used TablePress to set up the store pages. Interestingly, prior to updating to WP 3.5.2, it worked fine. The Buy Now buttons in the same table work fine.
***Also, I filled in the form on Saturday for to receive the eStore most recent update, however, I haven’t received that from you guys. ****
Have you heard of any issues after the 3.5.2 update with eStore 6.9.78?
July 22, 2013 at 3:01 pm #56712sheritaberMemberHi there,
I located the problem. We had to code the tables to stop caching. Viola! Fixed.
I’m still waiting for the eStore plugin update. I’ve done the auto request twice (entered my transaction id). What should I do to get it?
Checked my Junk, Spam filters; nothing.
Thank you for all your support.
July 22, 2013 at 11:48 pm #56713adminKeymasterGlad to hear that you got the issue sorted. I sent you an email manually with the updates.
