We have installed and configured eStore and eMember and everything is just about read to go. However, there is a problem with the eStore encrypted download buttons – they are simply not working. We can get them to work, occasionally, with a jpg as the ‘product’ for download. But any other type of file used as the ‘product’ throws an error. The URL paths to the products are correct. The error that is being thrown, as it appears in Firefox, is:
“Corrupted Content Error | The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. | The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.”
This is a critical issue for us as we have spent a lot of time researching and getting everything set up, and it’s crucial for us to have everything working now.
If it’s not possible for us to solve this issue, is there any other way that we can provide the downloadable content to our members without them being able to know or share the URL that it comes from?
One option that we considered is simply using the file protection folder within eMember. This would work for us, except for the fact that it requires a username and password for EVERY download, which quite affects the user experience. As we provide our members with updated course materials for their teaching classes, they need to be able to download many files successively, and so having to enter their username and password for each file is simply too cumbersome.
Is there any way to configure the eMember content protection folder to allow users access to the protected files as long as they are signed in to their account?
All we want to do is provide our members access to downloadable files, and for those files to not be able to be shared with anyone who does not have a membership account, while keeping the download process easy for members.
Can you please help us fix the eStore download button problem, or configure the eMember protection folder to allow access when signed into a membership account.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Justin
August 25, 2013 at 8:40 pm #57394wzpModeratorPlease enable the debug logs, reset them, and perform some tests. Then examine the Download_Manager_Debug.log file to see if anything is amiss.
Also, could you please post a non expiring encrypted link to a test file?
August 25, 2013 at 11:24 pm #57395adminKeymasterI would also recommend you to load a fresh new copy of the estore plugin too:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Also, check the following checklist:

August 26, 2013 at 12:13 am #57396clearscopeParticipantThank you for your response. Can you please tell me how to enable the debug logs and perform tests? We don’t have any experience with that.
Here is a non-expiring encrypted link to a test file: [https://mindfulnessinschools.org/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php?file=2BOa%2FC0EVvOVjKzp]
I have tried uninstalling and deleting the plugin, and loading a fresh copy of eStore. One thing I notice (and this has been the case for both eStore and eMember) – when we install them through the dashboard plugin install screen, neither of them ever get past the ‘Unpacking the packageā¦’ screen. That is, the screen never gets to this point:
Installing the pluginā¦
Plugin installed successfully.
Activate Plugin | Return to Plugins page
Now, if you leave that page manually and go back to the plugins page, the plugin appears there and you can activate it. And, if you check FTP, it seems that all the files were successfully added. And the plugins seem to work completely as intended within the dashboard.
But still, this is strange, and we have never had this problem with any other plugins.
Perhaps this is part of the problem?
August 26, 2013 at 5:25 am #57397adminKeymasterThis seems to be a conflict with another plugin. Can you please do the plugin test and report back?

August 27, 2013 at 4:08 am #57398clearscopeParticipantOk, I have gone through the checklists listed above to no avail. I’ve also gone through and done plugin and theme testing. When all plugins are disabled and when the theme is reverted to WordPress default 2013, the issue still persists. I enabled the debug log, and this is the info that it is showing:
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – Status : Link details retrieved using file key. Link ID: 113
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – Status : Handing download request from IP Address: XX.XXX.XXX.XXX
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – Status : Unresolved DL file path = http://ourwebsite.org/wp-content/uploads/member-downloads/test.docx
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – Status : Resolved DL file path = /home/users/web/b100/moo.ourwebsite/wp-content/uploads/member-downloads/test.docx
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – Status : Dispatching DL method = 1
[08/27/2013 3:58 AM] – SUCCESS : DL completed with no server-side errors detected.
So, there does not seem to be any conflict with our theme or other plugins, and we are not using any of the plugins on your non-compatible list.
Please, please tell me you have some other ideas of how to fix this. We are quite distraught at the moment that we can’t get this working.
Thank you.
