I’m using eStore to sell access to download pages that I protect with eMember.
A customer bought a downloadable product (actually a membership disguised as a downloadable product) from my store yesterday. I got the receipt from Paypal and a notice from eStore that a product was sold.
I did not get an email notice that this new member registered (I checked the eMember db and the customer DID complete her registration).
The customer isn’t listed in the Manage Customers panel
The sale isn’t listed in the Orders Display Table
I just opened shop this week and only have a handful of sales and members so it’s not that I’m overlooking them. All of the above worked with the previous sales and I haven’t changed any settings.
Is there some reason why this would happen that I can possibly address? I was hoping I could count on the accuracy of the customer data for weekly reports rather than going through the hassle of downloading transactions from Paypal.
July 10, 2015 at 8:43 pm #70766veramiloSpectatorSince yesterday, I received another order. This one shows up in Manage Customers panel and Orders Display Table so it seems yesterday’s missing records could have been a temporary glitch. If it’s a fluke, is there any SAFE way that I can insert the missing records manually to keep everything in sync?
I’m still not getting the new member notifications, but this could be an email issue at my end. I’ll try a different address and see if that solves it. I just have to wait for another signup before I can know if it worked.
July 11, 2015 at 12:11 am #70767wpCommerceModeratorHi, Do you have a page wheere we can click on the payment button? Please make sure to keep the debug option enabled. That way we will be able to see what’s happening in the backend.
You can also check if the plugin is actually sending the email: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/not-receiving-emails-even-though-the-plugin-sent-the-email
July 11, 2015 at 12:32 am #70768veramiloSpectatorI’m pretty sure this particular email issue was with my email. And this does’t concern me as much because I expect occasional email issues…
I’m more concerned with why that one sale yesterday missed getting logged into estore’s customers and orders tables and **how I might insert it manually,** if possible, so everything is in sync. I got the paypal email notification for it — it just wasn’t being logged in eStore. The customer also apparently got their registration activation link because their member table shows their membership is active.
There’s no telling if it will happen again because the next sale got logged in both tables.
If I leave debug running for a week or two (or more), would that help just in case it happens again? Is there any downside to doing that?
July 11, 2015 at 1:45 am #70769adminKeymasterI think that transaction had data that the database insert couldn’t process (because the data formatting is not UTF-.
Make sure to do the following so all PayPal data is sent to your site using UTF-8 formatting:
