MemberYes, I can copy the download link and paste in address bar…and it will let me download it….and i am not signed in to wordpress. I did check permissions, they are set at 775 for the estore folder.
this is what i used
http://www.wilcomfonts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/hargtondiamond.zip
and it works fine …just not encrypted.

ModeratorWhen I tried the unencrypted link, it downloaded, but both Windows and 7-zip say that the file is invalid. Also, what was downloaded directly is only 3k in size.
Is 3k the correct size of the file?
Perhaps you can try this experiment again, but instead of using WP to upload the file, use FTP in binary mode.

MemberI am on computer at work…and trying this….I can download the zip from above link, and it works fine. I can extract and that works fine. Size is actually 52k….small single file.
So, by doing this, it seems that the method of uploading was ok. file is not corrupted and get no errors by above link. It seems more on the encrypted link that are the problem areas.
There is another file that works fine too…
This one is just 3 jpg in folder.
http://www.wilcomfonts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/elhack.zip
It works fine too….this one is just pics..so you can see them. the other is embroidery file, that you would not be able to open.

ModeratorThis is really strange…
If I copy the elhack.zip URL into my browser’s address bar; AND tell the (Firefox) browser to immediately OPEN it; it works every time.
If I copy the elhack.zip URL into my browser’s address bar; AND tell the (Firefox) browser to first SAVE the file; and then open it AFTER it has been downloaded; I get different file sizes; some of which are valid and some of which are not… 8(
Since, in this case, we are dealing with unencrypted links, that have nothing to do with eStore; I think there is a more fundamental problem going on somewhere with the server; that needs to be addressed, first.
I do notice, that after trying this experiment a few times, that it gets more reliable after the first few attempts. Who is the hosting provider, and what kind of hosting package is the site using?

MemberIt is hosted with bluehost.com as far as package, just the “regular” one…i didnt order anything specific or special.
If it helps, I could send my log in info to everything , maybe you would see something.I just dont know what I am looking for to be wrong.

ModeratorI think what will happen is that Amin will send you a formal request for the access information; when he gets in later today. He is in Australia, so it will be about 9 hours from now.

MemberUnfortunately I having the “Download file cannot be found. Please let us know. Thank you!” error.
The file URL is correct because I can download it directly.
When I uncheck Downloadable I get a login form after clicking on the download link emailed to me. This isn’t supposed to happen. What else can I do?

ModeratorUnder the general settings, enable the debug log files and then take note of the information posted to the download_manager_debug.log file.

MemberThanks for your reply.
After having a look into that file, there were some errors which I don’t understand their meaning BUT, I’ve noticed that I was using ftp:// because I copied the link from from my FTP client and didn’t noticed that. After changing to http:// the encrypted download link worked fine.
Thanks.
