MemberHi,
I have video’s throughout the site in the protected content sections that are not working. At first I was seeing the shortcode – but searched around in the forum and was able to find the answer to resolve it… thanks! But now, depending upon what computer you’re looking at it from, it either doesn’t display correctly (the still doesn’t display) or I get an error message saying:
“ArgumentError – Invalid parameter passed to method”
This is what it should look/function like:

Here you can see the error message, if you want to login:

uname:Testing
pword:oranges77
Much appreciation for any help! ~Denise

MemberHi Denise,
Your video plays fine in Chrome.
However when viewing it via FireFox I get the error you are referring to.
How are you embedding the video?
I can see that currently you are using flash as your video format. Do you have another format of the same video such as mp4?

MemberI’m using a plugin called “Video Embed & Thumbnail Generator” which goes to a “HTML5 video fallback when Flash isn’t installed.”
Plugin is here:
I couldn’t find anything on the site that seemed pertinent, but I’m happy to inquire and see if they have any clues.
Sorry – this is a bit over my head!

KeymasterIt looks like the fallback to HTML5 isn’t working properly on that plugin in firefox when used inside the section protection shortcode (I am guessing you are using eMember’s section protection shortcode?). What version of eMember are you using?
That page has a lot of come HTML code so it is possible some HTML code tag is getting messed up and the browser is not able to read all the arguments. Please do the following for a simple test:
1) Create a new WordPress page
2) Embed the video on this page
3) Section protection around the video
4) Share a link to this page so I can see what it does

I just purchased emember this last month – v8.2.9

Very appreciative…

KeymasterPlease reload eMember now and then check that video. We have just added an enhancement to the emember’s section protection shortcode which might help with this. Please see this post to learn how to reinstall a fresh copy of the plugin:

MemberAlright. Done. Sorry to say that the problem still exists. **** sigh***

KeymasterOkay, I have no idea why else that other shortcode form that plugin would fail unfortunately. I can only guarantee that it’s not an issue in eMember.

MemberDo you know of anyone that might be able to address this? I’m happy pay someone for their time.

MemberI got it working!! FYI – all that needed to be done was to change the url in the shortcode pulling up the image to an absolute link, rather than relative.
All is good in the world.
Thanks for your efforts.
