Just to add my 2 cents worth for others who may experience this problem:
I was having the same problem and I noticed mention of ‘wpautop’ in previous posts in this topic.
As it happens, my theme vendor mentions “When wordpress’ formatting gets in the way, try adding a custom field ‘wpautop’ and set to ‘false'” (I think this custom field is a specific feature of the theme)..
Anyway, I did that and now the ‘Required field’ processing works
Just trying to say that ‘wpautop’ was the culprit for me and could be a useful hint for others.
October 7, 2018 at 5:30 am #47276chrisdoyleMemberI have eMember v 10.1.1 installed and I have the same problem mentioned in this thread of free members being allowed to register even if they have not filled in the mandatory fields which have been enabled in settings.
It is not a theme issue because I uninstalled the theme I use and used different themes to test the registration and the problem persisted.
I am unable to find out where exactly the problem lies and will request your help with this so I can have this rectified.
This is the link to the registration page: christophercdoyle.com/the-quest-club/membership-registration/
Can you please check this out and advise what action needs to be taken to resolve this issue and make the registration form work? I will greatly appreciate your help with this.
Thank you!
October 8, 2018 at 5:20 am #47277adminKeymasterThe registration form for the email confirmation seems to be doing the validation correctly. Are you talking about the form that is shown AFTER you click on the special link sent to the email?
October 8, 2018 at 7:34 am #47278chrisdoyleMemberYes, I was not referring to the form for the verification email. That is not the registration form. I was referring to the form that needs to be filled in after you click on the verification link, where mandatory fields have to be filled in before membership is approved. But I don’t know how to send you the link to that registration form since it is only generated after the verification email is sent. If it is possible for you to create a dummy account and generate a verification link to check the validation in the registration form where the mandatory fields exist, I will greatly appreciate it. Or if there is some other way to check those fields, please let me know. Thanks
October 9, 2018 at 4:09 am #47279adminKeymasterThe custom checkbox field you have there seem to be causing a JavaScript error. Are you using the form builder addon to configure that custom field?

Do a temporary test by removing that custom field. Do you see the same javascript error after you remove the custom field from the registration?
