eMember – Replacing the lock image displaying on homepage articles

This issue is for non-logged in members.

When locking individual articles eMember will allow the featured image to be displayed.

When locking categories it seems eMember is replacing the featured image with a “lock” on articles in the locked category. We don’t really want images of locks all over our homepage.

Is there a way to allow the featured image to be displayed on locked categories? The lock image is also over riding the WP thumbnail size setting, it is a bit larger than the normal featured image thumbnail.

Can you please post a link to your category page? What version of WordPress and eMember are you using?

If we create an article in an unlocked category and just lock the article, the image and excerpt shows up fine.

I also forgot to mention previously that the excerpt field will not populate in a locked category, you have to manually add an excerpt.

Thank you. I see what you mean now. That lock icon is only shown on media items (attachments) that you have protected using eMember. Did you go to your media library and applied protection to those images that you are using as thumbnail? Or are you using some kind of a category for your attachements (images that are in your media library) which you have protected?

This is what I am seeing. If you protect a category, it will protect all media items on the pages in that category. I doublechecked and I do not have any media items protected. When I protected a category and view that category page, all featured image/thumbnail pictures are shown as protected and show the lock icon. So it seems that the category protection overrides all things underneath it (posts and images/media inside those posts).
