Tagged: user account password reset
Hi
I am currently experiencing a strange problem.
I am running Members v8.5.2 & WordPress 3.5.1. (with a few other plugins, like WP-Ecommerce, Buddy press, Contact Form 7, User Online)
So, if a user clicks forgot password – I’ve got it so they are taken to a page instead of the pop up, they enter their email, and get sent an email (which I have got, but others are saying they are not receiving).
But the main problem is, the email gets sent with Username and Password – however, the Username sent is not the username of the account, it creates a new one and creates a new password.
So, for example the Username and Password for the test account I just tried was
David
changeme
The email sent back:
Username: M45738475348
Password: 0woMQa3CG12y
These new details do log me into an account, but not the ‘david’ one.
In my options, I do have ticked ‘Automatically Create WordPress User’ & ‘Automatically log into WordPress:’ & ‘Automatically log into eMember:’
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Andy
Hi Andy, What you explained is a little strange. First, lets load a fresh copy of the membership plugin:
Try the forgot password feature after that and let me know if you see any change.
Did you make sure that you were using the correct user’s account?
Hi
Well, it turns out I am a complete fool, there were two entries for the same person, with the same email address – so, sorry for wasting your time
I will take a bit more time looking into it next time!
Cheers
Andy
