Hi,
I am using a premium theme from Elegant Themes. Upon eMember activation, I immediately noticed majority of the buttons in emember are not working
– Add New button on Membership levels not working
– Members are not displaying
I switched to another theme but still not working. With this issues, I can not even do anything right now, and this is very unfortunate for a paid plugin.
Please let me know how to go about this.
WordPress – version 3.4
eMember version – WP eMembers – Members v7.9.8.5

June 17, 2012 at 6:49 am #46213PeterMemberLet’s start fresh and deactivate and delete your current version of emember and install a new copy by following the instructions here:
(NOTE: Please be sure to delete the plugin and not leave an old copy on your system)
Try the above and let us know how that goes.

January 11, 2013 at 10:34 pm #46215adminKeymasterHi, Did you empty your browser cache after you uploaded the new copy of the plugin? It is likely your browser is showing you the cached javascript from the old plugin.
February 28, 2013 at 9:02 am #46216LouisaMemberThat was the solution, thanks.
May 20, 2017 at 12:39 am #46217siteseerMemberHi –
I received an error message after setting up and testing the eMember Paypal button shortcode on my site which said: “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.”
When I checked back about 20 minutes later, it still didn’t work.
Here is a link to the payment page:

Anyone know why the button isn’t working and how I might fix it?
May 20, 2017 at 1:25 am #46218wzpModeratorThat message is coming from PayPal; not the plugin:
The “usual” reason, stated by PayPal is:
Passing currency symbols (“$”, “£”, etc.) or values other than integers (1, 2, 3, etc.) and decimal points (“.”) in the amount field. For example, “1234.50” is correct, but “$1,234.50” isn’t allowed.
Does that explanation ring a bell? Did you enter a “$” (dollar sign) in any fields?
May 20, 2017 at 1:49 am #46219adminKeymasterThe paypal email address you specified in the button configuration looks to be incorrect. If you temporarily change the paypal email address in the button configuration to our address which is “sales@tipsandtricks-hq.com”, you will see the paypal checkout page will load fine. So something with your address or your paypal merchant account is wrong.
Copy and paste the correct paypal email address there and save the button then try again. Your paypal account is fully approved right?
May 22, 2017 at 2:48 pm #46220siteseerMemberThanks for your suggestions
. After checking my settings…
– I did not enter a dollar sign in any field
– My PayPal account is active
– My email address is correct
However, the payment button still doesn’t work.
Any other ideas?
May 23, 2017 at 12:12 am #46221adminKeymasterMaybe you have the “allow encrypted payment buttons only” option enabled in your paypal account.
To Turn Off the PayPal Encrypted Website Payments Feature
1) Log in to your PayPal account.
2) Click Profile.
3) From the Selling Preferences column, click Website Payment Preferences.
4) In the Encrypted Website Payments section, select Off.
5) Click Save.
May 23, 2017 at 2:24 pm #46222siteseerMemberThat did it! Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. God Bless!
