Tagged: first name
Hi,
I am using the “first name” field for “school name” instead in eMember. After scratching my head for a long time after importing WordPress users were failing, I realised there is a character limit of 32 for first name.
I searched the forum and came across this thread which is similar to the problem I have:
The only difference is mine is for first name not username.
I have now altered varchar(32) to varchar(128) in the database for the firstname.
Everything appears to be working fine.
Is the way I have done this an acceptable solution? Will i run into problems when plugin upgraded or will my database changes remain intact?
Thanks.
Rob.
What you have done (increased the table column’s character limit) is totally fine. You shouldn’t have any issue with this.
Thank you very much
