Hello,
I have 2 eMember levels: free and premium. To become Premium you must first be a free member and then pay to upgrade your account.
I would love for Premium members to receive a nice thank you email when they pay to become upgraded.
I thought the Email Settings (“Account Upgrade” notification) would do exactly that but nobody receives this email (they do receive the other emember auto emails so that’s not the problem). The explanation of what the account upgrade notification is:
This is the body of the email that will be sent to the member after they upgrade their membership account.
So I’m really surprised it does not work.
Any solution? I am using version 8.7.7
Thanks!

Lets see if we can find out where things are going wrong.
1) Do the following (just in case):
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
2) Then enable debug option in the plugin.
3) Are you integration eMember with eStore (for payment) or just using it by itself?
4) Do a test transaction that will hit that member upgrade scenario.
5) Share the URL of your site.

I was fearing you would answer this.
Upgrading eMember is going to be a very expensive process. My developers have done some deep integration of eMember, particularly on the profile page, and the cost to upgrade is going to be very high as we will need to restest pretty much everything.
I am not using eStore.
Debug was on all the time. Here is what I get when somebody upgrades in the CRON log
[01/08/2014 2:55 PM] – SUCCESS :Auto upgrading the member account with member ID: 4657Level: 3
[01/08/2014 2:55 PM] – SUCCESS :Users account state: expired
Not All users that upgrade are in that CRON log. And for this user, he upgraded on the 3rd and I only find him in the CRON log on the 8th.
The upgrade payment page is here:
And in case this matters at all, they are subscribing with a recurring payment and I am unable to automatically renew their subscriptions if they keep their recurring payment active (this will be my next ticket but they might be connected).
Many thanks!
February 8, 2014 at 10:50 pm #60718adminKeymasterWe can’t support a customized copy of the plugin. We can never know what code changes your developer made and what impact it has. Also, you can’t really stay in an old version of eMember forever. In a new version of WordPress they might change something which will need an upgrade to eMember. So you need to have some sort of a plan to upgrade your emember plugin.
With that said, you should look in the following debug log file for the paid account upgrade event:
…/wp-eMember/ipn/ipn_handle_debug_eMember.log
Why do you need to manually upgrade their account when someone is paying you via a subscription?
