Please help!!
I had everything set up on a test site, then imported over to my main domain. Everything seemed to be working fine, but now on BOTH my test site and my main domain, the eMember process is not working. I can purchase and get taken all the way through registration. Then when I try to log out and log back in it doesn’t register my username or password. I tried to send an email to reset password, and it won’t even recognize my email address.
All the member information is showing up inside the dashboard…WHAT IS WRONG?
Maybe I should just delete all the files for the eMember plugin and start over. I tried to delete and re-install, but it saved all the files anyway.
Please help,
Dana
June 22, 2012 at 8:34 am #46340adminKeymasterFirst of all, you just have to do what this post says if you want to load a fresh build of the plugin:

The most common cause for not being able to log in is using a wrong password. Please post a link to your registration page and I will test out a registration and checkout what happens.
June 22, 2012 at 5:02 pm #46341DanaDunnMemberThank so much for your quick reply!
First of all, I have done everything your instructions say. I’ve deactivated the plugin, deleted it, and then uploaded and installed a fresh version of it. I am just in the testing phase of the site now, and don’t have actual members yet…thank God!
The problem is, that if I want a fresh installation with NO saved settings, then I’m not sure what to do, or what files to remove that the deactivation and deletion didn’t take care of. I want to completely eliminate all the files and start over with a new install. That is if I can’t figure out what the problem is. It might just be easier to start fresh since we don’t have active members yet. I LOVE this and ALL your plugins, I really want this to work.
I’ve tested again this morning on a different computer, and my login and password is still not accepted, and it doesn’t recognize my email account to even send me another password, although I show up in the members area with all my info including email and username.

Thanks a million for your help and support!!!!

June 23, 2012 at 3:00 am #46342adminKeymasterYou never lose your member data or settings data when you deactivate and delete the plugin (this is to make sure you don’t accidentally lose those data.. it would be very unfortunate if you did). So when you load a fresh build, you just load fresh code but the member data, settings data stay intact. I have sent you an email to get access to the site so I can checkout your settings and see what is going on.
June 23, 2012 at 3:18 am #46343DanaDunnMemberThank you so much, but I figured everything out this afternoon!
I had to overwrite the files, then go back in and change the setting in my OptimizePress theme. It appears that the page settings was locking me out.
I don’t know if you have anyone else using OptimizePress, but it’s important that the page settings NOT use the WordPress membership option. They will need to use the Free/DAP/WL option. Now everything is working beautifully!!!
Thanks again for the awesome support!

@DanaDunn is correct..
When using Optimizepress and WP eMember, set the global protections and then grant access to the applicable pages within the Membership settings.
But all the protected pages need to be Free/DAP/WL……
Took me FOREVER to figure out, but thanks to this post, all seems good now!!
WHOO HOO!!!!
