Since I am using the PayPal redirect I am taken back to the thank you page am able to download the product. But the customer gets no email, I (seller) get no email and the stats show no sales. Any ideas on what to do?
December 8, 2011 at 10:09 am #39405IvyMemberPlease run a test transaction with the debug turned on as this will give tell you exactly what is going wrong after a payment.
The following forum post will explain when and how to use the debug:
If you need help reading the debug log feel free to share the content of the following three debug files
– ipn_handle_debug.log
– eStore_post_payment_debug.log
– subscription_handle_debug.log
December 9, 2011 at 7:18 am #39406bearytinytreasuresMemberI hope this is where my problem belongs. My site has been working great (MAN I love WP EStore!) for several months then today I Had an order, received payment and that is how I found I had the order. I still several hours later have not received the “You have a sell” email and I have mine set to send to my normal email and my phone email. I did write the buyer and sent the pdf file just in case she didn’t receive the download .. but she said that she did get the email .. it’s just me that didn’t receive the ‘sell’ email.
I have my debug on so checked there first thing .. I also ran a test on my test page, as the buyer I did receive the ‘here is your download email’, and the download thank you page was working along with the link there .. but I (as seller) never received the ‘you have a sell’ email.
This is what the debug said on the sell today and on my test sell .. any clue what is wrong?
Thank you for any help:)
Sherrie
ipn_handle_debug.log = FAILURE :Connection to http://www.paypal.com failed.fsockopen error
eStore_post_payment_debug.log = this was all successful across the board
December 10, 2011 at 3:14 am #39407adminKeymasterfsockopen error usually happens when something on the server has been changed and it is not working anymore but I have a suspicion that you may be looking at old debug. Did you reset the debug file before doing the test?
Please ask your hosting if they have done some maintenance work on your server in the last few days.
Next, load a fresh build of the plugin and try the debug test again:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
After a debug test run share the full content of the debug file.
December 16, 2011 at 5:02 am #39408renegadeMemberI did the reset and enabled the debug. I still have the same problem and the debug logs are blank. Is this because I am doing real live transactions?
The customer is able to download the file and gets the email from PayPal. I, as the seller, get an email from PayPal but, no email to my web mail on the site. Also stats still show 0 even though I have made 5 transactions.
Where do I go from here?
Thanks
December 16, 2011 at 9:19 am #39409adminKeymasterIf the debug log is empty then check this checklist to find out where you made a mistake:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/what-to-do-if-the-debug-file-is-empty
The above link is mentioned in the debug instruction that was posted in an earlier post.
December 23, 2011 at 7:55 am #39410renegadeMemberOkay, i followed the steps and I get the email telling me I have a sale, the sales stats show a sale and the customer gets an email with a download link too. Just one more question. The “from” section of the email to the customer gives my email as Jerry@yahoo.com. I am using the Change WP Mail From Details Plugin and have the fields in the plugin and store setting as Jerry <sales@classicwisdomarchives.com>. How do I get this to show as the “from” email address?
Thanks!
December 23, 2011 at 9:35 pm #39411PeterMemberHi,
The “Change WP eMail From Details” plugin should override the eStore from settings.
There is another more simpler thing you could do.
In the eStore “Email Settings” section of the main settings page, change the “From Email Address” field to your desired address using the following format:
Your Name <youremail@gmail.com>
This will only make the from email address of the notification email to the above.
December 26, 2011 at 7:49 pm #39412renegadeMemberHi,
I already have both of those set as you said but, it still isn’t working.
December 27, 2011 at 4:34 am #39413adminKeymasterThat would mean that you most likely have another plugin somewhere which is also overriding your “From email address” field globally (kind of like what the “Change WP Mail From Details” plugin does. Please do the following:
1. Load a fresh build of the plugin (this is more of a safety step):
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
2. Do the plugin test mentioned here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/test-to-identy-a-conflicting-theme-or-plugin
3. After you have done a test transaction share the content of the debug file so I can see more details.
December 29, 2011 at 8:32 am #39414renegadeMemberI deactivated Contact Form 7, Really Simple CAPTCHA and Ozh Admin Dropdown Menu and still get the from address as Jerry@yahoo.com.
Active plugins are Akismet, All In One SEO, Change WP Mail from Details, Contextual Related Posts, Datafeedr Random AdsV2, Feedburner Plugin, Google XML Sitemaps, HB Social Bookmarks, podPress, Tell a Friend, Tiny MCE Advanced, WP estore.
Everything I can find, icluding the general blog setting and plugins, except the sales notification address in WP eStore, is set as jerry@classicwisdomarchives.com.
I have copied the ipn_handle_debug.log and the eStore_post_payment_debug.log into a text file. How do I send them to you without everybody on this forum getting all my personal information from them?
December 30, 2011 at 4:55 am #39415adminKeymasterYou don’t have to deactivate “Contact Form 7” plugin as I know that plugin is good.
You can post the data after obfuscating the personal information. Alternatively, use the contact form on our site to contact us and we will email you.
Can you also deactivate the “Change WP Mail from Details” and “Tell a Friend” plugins then do a test. This way we will be able to see the difference.
