I’m doing pretty good for an older gal!

I seem to have done everything right until here –

When I click “add to cart” on my “ebooks by Christine” page, it goes to a page with this message:

Oops! That page can’t be found.

It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?

I DO have a page loaded and linked for a shopping cart.

    Can’t figure this one out!

I am doing well for an older guy too…but I have the same problem.

I have had eStore working on my site for a couple of years…changed the theme tonight and started getting 404 error ‘page not found’ ( when I hit the back button I find that the plugin works just fine – seems to be redirecting to some far off place in cyber-space.)

I have browsed the forums, deactivated and deleted the old plugin and installed the new, dummped my cache, tried various shortcodes – same error on every page.

Hi, It is likely that you have a plugin (or your theme) is making eStore’s request stop abruptly in the middle. Please do what is suggested in the following post (all the way upto step 6):

Create a Specific Checkout Page for WP eStore Plugin

Let me know if that works as a good workaround.

Also, I would request that you load a fresh copy of the plugin too:

Ack! Your instructions worked like a charm – all 6 steps. Until I hit the Paypal button, then I get this message:

The website declined to show this webpage

    HTTP 403

    Most likely causes:

•This website requires you to log in.

    What you can try:

Go back to the previous page.

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

I rechecked the paypal settings in settings and everything looks OK.

    What next?

I enabled the following option in eStore Settings -> Advanced Settings menu and now the checkout is working correctly:

    Enable Alternate Redirection Method

Hi, I’m having trouble finding your product. Can you please point me to the exact page in question?

Looks like your theme is causing the page not found error.

This is what I saw in firebug when adding and removing to/from cart:

    GET rebelcreationz.com/siment/wp-content/themes/hiphop/images/back-header.png 404 (Not Found) (index):134
    GET rebelcreationz.com/siment/wp-content/themes/hiphop/images/content/main-lr.png 404 (Not Found) (index):226
    ......

Talk to your theme developer and ask why his script is trying to load various images which do not exist.

You can do the theme test mentioned here to verify what I am saying:

Hi I think I managed to fix it, I think what was happening, it was conflicting with other plugins I was experimenting with. So I deleted the other plugins, now it seems to be working fine. Thanks for you help though.

Hi, I have a similar problem redirecting to 404 when clicking on ‘add to cart’. I tried reverting to another theme and this seems to correct the issue. I created a standalone checkout page therefore, as you suggested, to get round this but if you remove an item from the cart on the checkout page, it goes to 404 again. Do you know how I can direct to the product page when removing an item from the cart?

    Many thanks.

@stote, please try the ajax option for adding items to the shopping cart:

Hi, thanks for your reply. I can now click on ‘add to cart’ and the cart appears on the bottom of the same page – great. When I click on ’empty cart’, that works. However, when I click on ‘remove item’, I have the same redirect to 404 problem. Do you know if there is a setting change to fix this?

Also, is there a function where the page automatically moves to the cart (at the bottom) when ‘add to cart’ is clicked? I do not want to use a cart in the sidebar.

    Many thanks.
