Hi I’ve been searching the forms but i cant seam to find a solution to my problem. So i have a custom field which is a dropdown that is supposed to be required my list is as follows
1=>–Select–,
2=>Parent,
3=>Student,
4=>Educator,
5=>Other
I’ve checked the required checkbox but it still wont validate maybe I’m missing something, im guessing it already have a value but i removed the 1st option but still it won validate.
my emember version is Version v7.2.2
wordpress version WordPress 3.2.1.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
When you say it “won’t validate” can you please provide what the error is?
Also can you please install the latest fresh version of eMember by following the instructions here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
sorry for the late reply im under the weather for the past week and i took a few days off.
well “won’t validate” means the red validation pop up wont appear even if the user didn’t pick an option from the dropdown menu, in this case the 1st option. eg. “— Select One —“
The first option is still an option… eMember doesn’t have the capability to read the word “Select One” and force the user to select a different option. As long as one option is selected it will let the user go ahead. You may want to rearrange your list so the most used option is the first one on the list (this way the most used option will be selected by default)
Hmm that what i feared T_T any way thanks for the reply & advise, maybe i ll try to modify the validation script if i have time (so much work to do heheheh). Thanks again
