Hi, folks,
My CSV generated by the affiliate program has returned the following error message when I attempt to upload the payment: “The payments file contains an invalid currency code.”
100% of the currency codes are USD.
I have checked the file for any non-text characters, and it’s clean.
I have created a manual tab-delimited file, saved as .txt, and attempted to upload that, and generated the SAME error.
It doesn’t look like you’ve seen this before, and I am just stumped. Further, I’ve used the aff program for the past almost year, and it’s worked flawlessly every time.
Do you have ANY clue what might be causing this error?
Holly
May 2, 2013 at 12:02 am #55392adminKeymasterCan you please verify that each line in the mass pay file has an email address and dollar amount value?
Each line should contain 3 pieces of information, the paypal email address, the amount and the currency code. Here is an example of how it should look:
paypaleamil[at]address.com 199.95 USD
If one of the lines is missing a piece of information then it could mess up the structure.
December 22, 2014 at 11:42 pm #55393raspyniMemberI just got off the phone with PayPal and we finally got it to work.
The file produced by your plugin didn’t look anything like what finally worked. Once I modified it to look like your example row above, it worked fine.
To get my CSV file, I used: Option A: Affiliate Mass Payout by Outstanding Amount
and my saved CSV file looked like this:
Amt Currency AffUserID First Last Email Address City State Zip Country Phone TAXID
How do I skip the modification steps I had to do and get a CSV file with just these 3 columns?
Thank you,
Barry
December 23, 2014 at 12:10 am #55394raspyniMemberJust got this from PayPal – might help others:
I have included the only three columns we need, as well as how these should be formatted. Hopefully whomever is in control of that original document will make the necessary updates to make sure the experience is easier for others!
Column 1: Email addresses of recipients
Column 2: Payment amount (must be represented in a $x.xx format)
Column 3: 3-letter currency code (no spaces should be present before or after the code)
December 23, 2014 at 10:39 pm #55395adminKeymasterThe CSV file is not for the mass payment. The plugin generates TWO files when you create a payment report file:
1) The CSV/Excel file
2) The PayPal mass payment file (it is a text file with .txt extension).
Use the 2nd file (text file) for PayPal mass payment (it is already labelled as mass payment file).
