Hello,
This is probably a lame question, but my discount coupon input field is not visible to the customers.
I’m using the short code [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=1]
Details:
1) I have set up a coupon for the product and see it listed in the coupon admin section
2) My shortcode works great at full price but doesn’t offer a discount coupon field
3) The “Buy Now” button takes the customer straight to PayPal without letting them put in a coupon code.
I’d really appreciate your help.
Thanks so much,
Kirk
September 14, 2011 at 2:28 am #36593adminKeymasterThe coupon can only be applied to a shopping cart. “Buy Now” type button takes the customer directly to PayPal, which means there is no option to apply a coupon.
“Buy Now” buttons are best used for a fast, one click, one product checkout right that moment (there is nothing else you can do to it). If you want to use the coupons options for a product then you need to use the “Add to Cart” type buttons. This post has more details on the differences between the button types:

Thanks so much for clearing this up. I had just assumed that a “Buy Now” could also have a coupon. But I get it now and the cart works perfectly now.
I appreciate your help.

February 14, 2013 at 6:35 pm #36595netblogerMemberHello,
Thanks again for great plugins.. I have membership site: [http://wordpresswbiznesie.pl] and I sell access to membership. I use buy now buttons and I want to use coupons feature. I really can’t use add to cart system in my membership site. Is there any possibility to use coupons with buy-now buttons? Maybe on manual form checkout?
February 15, 2013 at 12:48 am #36596adminKeymasterYou need to understand the definition of what a “Buy Now” type button is. As soon as you want to do something with a button that doesn’t take the user directly to the “Payment” page, it is not a “Buy Now” type anymore. Buy now means… I am clicking this button and take me directly to the payment page. So when you want to apply coupons and other things the way to handle this is via the shopping cart (meaning you have to use an add to cart button). You can call your “Add to cart” button buy now or whatever else you like.
There is not many difference between “Buy Now” button and “Add to Cart” button other than the fact that “Add to cart” type buttons are designed to accommodate various cart operations like “Discount coupons” etc.
You can sell memberships using add to cart type buttons too (it works the same way the “Buy Now” buttons work).
