Cant seem to get the ‘complete your registration’ email to be sent.
I’m using eMember only. I’m not using estore, not ready to tackle setting up a sandbox.
im just using a basic paypal button following this tutorial—.http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/wp-emember-quick-setup-and-usage-video-tutorial-132#!wp-video-lightbox/3/a basic
everything works fine after order is complete. i get the thankyou page and paypal confirmation of sale, but no email to complete the registration. ive been through all these posts and cant figure this one out. it’s not paypal ipn enable issue either. i dont have a free area because everything is free, except my video area so all i need is join/pay option.
creating and sending complete registration email from functions tab in wpEmember does work; i get a clickable link to site. but it just wont work from paypal. already paid myself 4 dollars from my paypal account trying to figure this one out.
i did alter the {reg_link} in email settings tab by mistake at but put it back. i think i got it right; using {reg_link}.
also, can you provide the default {}bracket text for ALL settings on this tab; i couldnt find a ‘reset to default’ option.
thanks

May 15, 2012 at 10:59 pm #45089PeterMemberHi courtney,
Since you made some changes and are not sure that you have changed them back properly I would firstly recommend re-installing a fresh copy of eMember:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Then when you’ve done that please enable debug in your eMember Settings page and then try the scenario again and share the output of the debug file.

well i did the re-install. still not getting anything back. re-direct to thank you page still works but no email is sent to complete registration.
i enabled debug and tried 2 more transactions but log files,ipn debug, ipn debug member and subscription handle are all empty.
im using this variable, (with my website domain inserted and my paid level id is 2)
notify_url=http://www.mydomain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-eMember/ipn/eMember_handle_paypal_ipn.php
custom=subsc_ref=2
im still puzzled.
havent tried clickbank yet because im not completely ready to launch.
any ideas?
thanks

May 18, 2012 at 12:03 am #45091adminKeymasterThe most common causes for this are the following:
1) You have IPN turned off in your PayPal account profile so PayPal is not sending the IPN (this is the payment notification the plugin needs to verify and process the payment).
Please check your PayPal profile settings and make sure you have IPN enabled under the “Instant Notification Preference” section.
2) There is a slight mistake in the URL you specified in the variable section of the button so PayPal is failing to send the IPN to that URL.
Please post a link to the page where you have your PayPal button and I will be able to verify number 2 for you.
