Hello,
I just purchased the eStore v.4.3.8 plugin. Downloaded the .zip, unzipped and uploaded in the
/wp-content/plugins
directory on a freshly installed WP 3.0.1 with all default settings and default table names. I can activate the plugin, but I get You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. after clicking the “Settings” link. I also don’t get the Settings box on the left under “Settings”(the general ones for WP).Thanks in advance!

October 2, 2010 at 1:06 am #24991wpCommerceModeratorPlease have a look at the following post and see if any of them is happening on your site?
October 2, 2010 at 8:26 am #24992insightdesignsMemberHi, I just had a look at the above linked post as well as at the other linked from there and unfortunately none of the described cases matches mine. As I said in my first post, it’s a fresh installation of WP with all the default names and table prefixes.
For the clarity:
- Example 1: I haven’t changed anything in the
.htaccess
. - Example 2: I haven’t changed the table prefixes. I mentioned it before as I’ve already searched for solution of the problem before I posted here, just all the solutions seemed to be bound to the different problems (also found the article on the http://beconfused.com site).
- Example 3:
- Theme: I’m using the eStore theme by Elegant Themes which should be ok with your plugin (that’s how I found you btw). Nevertheless I switched back to the original “Twenty ten 1.1” theme by WP and tried again – same result.
- Plugins: No other apart from Akismet(activated) are installed nor activated
Another “clue” I mentioned earlier is that the “eStore” box doesn’t appear on the left in my WP dashboard under the WP’s own “Settings” box, after activating the plugin.

It is my understanding that it has something to do with the WP database.
October 2, 2010 at 4:14 pm #24994insightdesignsMemberI also found earlier that thread, thanks! Didn’t think it concerns me as it was regarding earlier versions of WP and updating WP in particular.
But just out of curiousity did change the
db_version
in mywp_options
from 15477 to 8204 as suggested on the WP forum. Well, got the message for outdated DB, updated it OK and still having the problem…October 2, 2010 at 11:35 pm #24995wzpModerator8(
What kind of system are you trying to install this on? From a hosting provider, or your own server? What versions of MySql, Apache, etc?
October 3, 2010 at 11:35 am #24996insightdesignsMemberIt’s all hosted on my VPS. Had to look for all the exact versions, etc. Finally got it all from
phpinfo()
:- Apache 2.0.54
- MySQL 4.1.13
- PHP 5.0.4 with SAFE_MODE activated
Hope it helps you to solve that annoying problem!
