Hi Support
I really thought that after purchasing the plugin it would be plain sailing in setting up the membership facility for my client. The plugin installs correctly and I can see all the forms and entry for the settings. However, i cannot create a new membership level. Following your instructions and video when I get to the section with the button “add new” I click it and nothing happens? No matter how many times the create new membership level screen will not appear.
I cannot get it to work on a local installation using XAMPP or on a site online? I am using WordPress 3.1.1 and have just downloaded and updated WP e-member to 6.3.3 Please can you instruct on how to make this section work as without it the plugin is useless??
Many thanks in advance
DWhitt

April 18, 2011 at 1:21 pm #31434amin007ParticipantYour theme seems to be adding some jquery librararies on all pages of the admin dashboard without using the WordPress’s enqueue function which is conflicting with a JQuery library in eMember. I tested by switching to the default theme and I can add the membership level fine.
The jquery conflicts start to happen when the developer do not keep the following important WordPress coding guidelines in mind:
1) Additional JQuery libraries should be added using the WordPress enqueue function (eMember enqueues the scripts so if the theme did the enqueue too, there would have been no conflict)
2) The theme should only add those additional JQuery in it’s admin menu rather than the whole WordPress admin (eMember only adds JQuery to eMember’s admin menu only)
3) All JQuery code in WordPress must run in no conflict mode to avoid potential conflict with other plugin or theme (eMember runs all JQuery code in no conflict mode).
Please read this post to learn more on this:
February 23, 2012 at 10:27 pm #31435diamexMemberI just purchased and installed the latest version of eMember – v7.6.8
I am running WP v3.3
My theme was created using Artisteer – I only mention that because I see theme issues stated above for someone else experiencing the same problem.
Everything installed and was set up without a hitch as far as eMember was concerned until I tried to create a level. I am not able to create on. The button is non-responsive.
I am not a techy so would need details if there is something I need to edit code wise.
Thanks in advance,
Vince
February 24, 2012 at 3:34 am #31436adminKeymasterPlease do the theme testing mentioned here:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/test-to-identy-a-conflicting-theme-or-plugin
February 24, 2012 at 6:43 pm #31437diamexMemberThanks for the reply. I did the testing and it was a plugin causing the conflict.
You can add Ken Sar’s “WordPress Corner Peel Plugin” v1.0 to the liost of plugins that don’t play nice as it was the culprit. No offense to the plugin – it works well – just not with eMember.
Thanks again.

February 24, 2012 at 11:36 pm #31438adminKeymasterGlad to hear that you found the issue. eMember should work fine as long as the other plugin is coded properly but unfortunately we do see some plugins every now and then that doesn’t follow the best practices which introduces a conflict. Here is one example that I see in a lot of plugins:
March 4, 2013 at 11:13 pm #31439JackieESSpectatorIn eMember, I go to Membership Levels, then click the “Add New” button. Nothing happens. I am running the basic Twenty Ten WordPress Theme 1.4. I have gone through plug-ins and deactivated one by one, and still there is nothing happening with the “Add New” button. I am using Safari on Mac OX Lion 1.7.5. I also tried Chrome. My site is [http://www.knitheartstrings.com/]
Getting very frustrated as I really want to get a paid membership level set up. (I have been running a free membership level the past year to get things rolling).
I really hope you can help!
p.s. I am on WordPress 3.5.1
March 5, 2013 at 12:52 am #31440adminKeymasterHi, You didn’t mention what version of eMember you are using. I think if you do the following it will help you:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
March 6, 2013 at 12:01 am #31441JackieESSpectatorOoh – I wish I had seen your message earlier. I did finally figure out that an upgrade of eMember might help. I got so sidetracked by the previous forum messages re. theme and plugin conflicts, that I was checking all of that out first. Wish I had checked version of eMember. Last time I will make that mistake!
btw, I was running v8.2.1. So now I am on 8.5.7 and I can add membership level now. Everything is working. Thank you.
