Buyer Email Body and Seller Email Body can't display Chinese properly.

I check Use WordPress Mailing System and Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase.

And I put some Chinese in the Buyer Email Subject* and Seller Email Subject* and Buyer Email Body* and Seller Email Body*.

Then I did live test to buy the product.

Buyer Email Subject and Seller Email Subject show Chinese well.

But in the Buyer Email Body* and Seller Email Body* , it can’t show Chinese in the product name and Chinese in the body.

Here is what I got in the Buyer Email:

I use WP eStore v 5.7.3.

PS: I can display Product name in Chinese in front end right.

What email client do you use to view your emails?

I use Yahoo email to read the email.

Lets try one little tweak. Please open the “paypal.php” file and search for the following line of code:

array_push($product_name_array, $cart_item_data_name);

Once you find it please change it with the following:

array_push($product_name_array, $retrieved_product->name);

Please do a test transaction after the change and let me know if you see any difference.

PS: Because I recommend these plugins to several companies , some of them brought recently thru my link, I need to teach them how to settle this problem.

I know I can type English product name , then the problem will gone, but it’s better to show customer Chinese product name. Thanks again.

Okay, one more testing… please search for the following line of code in “paypal.php” file:

$body    = stripslashes(str_replace($tags,$vals,$email_body));

Once you find it please change it with the following:

$body    = str_replace($tags,$vals,$email_body);

Give that a go.
