Hi. I’ve recently set up WP Affiliate and it is collecting clicks with (seemingly) no issues but not recording sales. I’ve just put through a couple of tests and the results aren’t showing
1) Landing page is: [http://www.my15minutes.com.au]
2) Sales handled through PayPal button
3) Using Option 1) Integrating PayPal Button Using PayPal’s PDT Feature
Direct/Plain/Hosted PayPal Button and Affiliate Plugin Integration
4) Enabled debug & here is latest log:
[08/14/2013 2:10 PM] – FAILURE :Remote POST is disabled in the settings.
[08/14/2013 2:10 PM] – FAILURE :Remote POST is disabled in the settings.
5) Versions
Affiliate plugin:v 5.6.9
WP: v 3.6
OptimizePress 2: v 2.0.6
I have just enabled the Remote Post on Settings page (before this last log was created after doing another test transaction) as the log indicated that was an issue – still no luck.
Also, is there a manual way to work out which sales should have been attributed to an affiliate or will this be auto generated for all past sales when this issue is resolved?
Thanks very much in advance!
Audrey
August 14, 2013 at 10:43 pm #57159adminKeymasterHi Audrey, Can you please tell me the URL of your thank you page?
Do you automatically get redirected to this thank you page?
What you see in the URL when you auto return to your thank you page after the payment on paypal?
You don’t need to enable remote posting for PayPal integration. you can ignore that remote posting error for now.
August 15, 2013 at 2:04 am #57160audreytMemberHi.
The thank you page url is [http://www.my15minutes.com.au/thankyou-member/]
I have set up the return url section in paypal to go back to this page – although when I tested the payment, I wasn’t able to login to paypal to process it so made a payment via VISA and it gave me the option of returning to the site or staying on paypal confirmation page.
I have had a colleague just buy through my affiliate link and it has gone through as a sale (yay!). Here is the thank you page url she was directed to:
Here is the latest log:
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :PayPal PDT detected – checking if commission need to be tracked…
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :Need to process commission for this sale…
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :PDT verified with PayPal.
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :Calling process PDT function.
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :Referrer: testm15m, Sale Amount: 97, Transaction ID: 0EJ28014W77007454, Item ID: , Buyer Email: [redacted], Custom Commission Rate:
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :The sale has been registered in the WP Affiliate Platform Database for referrer: testm15m with amount: 29.1
[08/15/2013 1:59 AM] – SUCCESS :Commission notification email sent to affiliate. Email address: [redacted]
*** So, now what do I do for all the other sales to work out who referred them and give them commission?
Thanks
August 15, 2013 at 7:46 am #57161adminKeymasterokay good. As far as I can see everything is now working correctly. It is likely that there were some PDT setup issue before.
Working out the old sales won’t be easy as the information is in the customer’s browser. You needed to set it up correctly before going live with the affiliate program. What you can do is wait for an affiliate to tell you if they have missed a sale. Then you can go to the sales data menu and manually award a commission for that sale.

December 13, 2013 at 8:59 pm #57163ScarletAmorMemberI am having a similar problem with my pay pal integrated affiliate commission system that is tracking clicks but not the sales.
For one, the debugging files are empty, even though I activated the option, so I can’t even figure out what the issue is?
I do not feel comfortable posting all my data publicly on this forum. Is there a private support option?
Thank you!
December 13, 2013 at 11:20 pm #57164adminKeymasterYou don’t have to post any sensitive info here (we can get that via email if needed).
First, tell us which of the integration options you are using (see reference here):
Are you using option 1 or option 2
March 18, 2014 at 9:16 pm #57165ScarletAmorMemberI’m back after noticing my plugin has NOT been tracking any commission sales, only clicks!
I JUST set up option 1 and added the paypal identity token. Is that why it wasn’t working?
Saved all my options, now how do I TEST the affiliate commission tracking to see if it actually works?
Thanks in advance!
