Hi guys,
Right now the problem appears to be resolved. Did you do anything or am I facing an intermittent problem?
January 22, 2011 at 2:03 pm #28270pwradioMemberPlease disregard my last post, which was inaccurate. I see that the method was changed to method 6 and that it is now downloading the full file size files, however it is still converting to a very large “. cpgz”. I’m sure you are aware of this, but I wanted to post this to replace my last post.
Thanks,
Shawn
January 22, 2011 at 2:05 pm #28271pwradioMemberThanks wzp. we posted at the same time. Not a problem, and thanks!

January 22, 2011 at 3:14 pm #28272wzpModeratorif you download the actual URL (not the encrypted one) does it contain the .CPGZ file?
January 22, 2011 at 3:19 pm #28273pwradioMemberNo.
January 22, 2011 at 3:21 pm #28274wzpModeratorI was just Googling for CPGZ. By any chance, is or was, a Macintosh ever involved with the file?
January 22, 2011 at 3:45 pm #28275pwradioMemberThey were zipped on a Mac. I have to stress however that they were encrypting and downloading fine until now.
I have a multi site set up and I tried downloading from the other site. I was able to encrypt and download a non-zipped file from there. The zipped files had the same problem as on the shop site. I didn’t have time to test a non-zipped file on the shop site before i ran out the door, but i suspect the same results… if that info matters at all.
January 22, 2011 at 3:55 pm #28276wzpModeratorAll clues help. We’ll have to wait for Amin, since he’s the one who is actually looking at your site.

January 23, 2011 at 1:45 pm #28278pwradioMemberThanks for workign on this. Sadly it is doing what it was doing yesterday. It seems to be downloading the full file, but it is unzipping to a ‘.zip.cpgz” file.
So, this is still unresolved. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Shawn

January 23, 2011 at 6:30 pm #28280wzpModeratorThis post is a recap of my offline exchange with pwradio…
I believe the CPGZ problem is being caused by a “single bit error” that is corrupting the download. Use of a 3rd party program such as 7-ZIP was able to open the file.
MP3 files are already compressed. By recompressing the already compressed MP3 files, pwradio only gained a 7% compression advantage. The problem though, is that this forces the buyer into sitting through a very large, prone to error, download.
The suggestion is to use the “bundled product” feature of eStore, and to create a bundle with the MP3 files instead. This way, each file gets its own download link. If an error occurs during the download of a single file, the buyer is not forced into sitting through another long download, just to recover one file.
January 23, 2011 at 6:53 pm #28281pwradioMemberThanks again Assurer!
I was zipping not to compress, but to bundle. Obviously I am going to go with your suggestion, which will make adding new products much easier.
Thank you!
