Well it is definitely the theme per the test you asked me to perform. The buttons and Paypal function worked perfectly fine when I changed it. Also I looked into the list of plugins that have known issues as well and found that Maintenance Mode is one on the not recommended list but is OK to use as long as I don’t try to perform any transactions while it is running.
With all of that being said, I am not a programmer and could not tell you what is causing the errors that you speak of other than physically looking at the site’s functionality. I did use the Markup Validation Service by W3C to check both themes (current and WP default) and even the default theme came up with more of what I believe to be errors/warnings which was confusing as the default theme appeared to work just fine.
So at this point I am asking for advice on what to do. As I am trying to use this site as a launching pad to do more with my photography, it is still just a hobby in the sense that I have a day job. I always knew that there would be a steep learning curve when it came to website development but at this point I’m starting to feel that I have to keep throwing more money at it to correct a problem/issue with it only to create a new one with the solution. I am also not young when it comes to the web as I learned fortan back in the day. Todays code looks like Greek to me today
Taking into account that I am not a programmer and I don’t have time or knowledge to debug code for weeks on end (even though I am an engineer and sort of a jack of all trades) what do you recommend to do to get me to the point of having a functioning website. Please keep in mind that your plugin seemed to solve a great many problems I had with selling on a website and when working properly seems to fit the bill. I would like to continue to use PhotoSeller but it sounds like I need to have the theme be more compatible.
What do you suggest?
– Get a new theme? If so can you recommend a few keeping cost in mind and also revolves around photography.
– I like the way my current theme works from a visual point of view with the full page home sliders. Is debugging the only real option?
– Anything else you can suggest would be helpful…
