I manage a UK store [https://www.wagtailpress.uk/] and, on some items we have 3 seperate Add to Cart buttons on the same page. The shortcodes are identical except for different the shipping cost which is different for each button. For example:-
[wp_cart_button name=”Journeys Through Britain With a Pack Pony” price=”8.90″ shipping=”1.95″]
[wp_cart_button name=”Journeys Through Britain With a Pack Pony – Euro” price=”8.90″ shipping=”3.05″]
[wp_cart_button name=”Journeys Through Britain With a Pack Pony – US” price=”8.90″ shipping=”5.55″]Option for Base Shipping cost is set to 0.
The Checkout page shows the corrct Shipping Cost but, when the PayPal page appears, it shows a shipping cost of £1.95. This was, a short while ago, the Base Shipping Cost and I wonder of the Cart is still passing that as the default even though I’ve subsequently set it to 0.
Any thoughts?September 28, 2021 at 6:19 pm #83727adminKeymasterDo you have paypal profile based shipping enabled in the paypal account? That can override the shipping values sent by the plugin.
I check the cart on your site and it is certainly sending a shipping value of 5.00 (when you click the checkout button). Then paypal is overriding that value to 1.95 which is an indication that you have profile based shipping that is coming into effect.

The video from the link in the settings page (“How to Setup PayPal Profile Based Shipping”) is from 2013 and bears no relation to the page we see now.
September 30, 2021 at 7:24 pm #83742adminKeymasterPayPal changes those interface on a regular basis so the interface shown on a screenshot or video will go outdated very quickly. The PayPal profile based shipping is something you can find in your PayPal account. You just have to click around and browse for it.
It’s usually under the following URL:
https://www.paypal.com/businessmanage/account/shippingTry clicking on “Account Settings” then go to the “SOLUTIONS & SERVICES” section and you should see the “Shipping” option there.
I can see it in the following interface in our PayPal business account:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/customerprofileweb?cmd=_profile-shippingOctober 1, 2021 at 1:24 am #83743EdwardRobsonParticipant🙂 You’re right about them changing the interface.
I’ll have a look at those links. Thank you. -
