You’ll be glad to hear I’ve overcome a number of minor issues by reading through these forums, but this final issue is still troubling me!
I’ve created a transparent 480 x 360 pixel PNG to use as the watermark on our preview images. The max preview image size is 600. The gallery has 55 images in it, and plugin processes those images quickly enough. But when I view the preview image, the watermark appears right in the middle at about 60 x 40 pixels. Is there any way to set the size of the watermark? Preferably, I would like it to remain at the size I created it, and not be scaled, but I’m happy if it scales down for portrait shaped images, for example. I don’t mind either way – I just need the watermark to display larger than it does.
For troubleshooting purposes, all plugins and the WP core are up to date, the WP Photo Seller plugin was purchased today, so should also be up to date. I’ve followed troubleshooting procedures, and tested with theme and plugins all disabled.

Have you tried using a much larger image for the watermark?
December 4, 2017 at 12:24 am #76817sbimMemberI don’t understand why the watermarking is a tricky one? That functionality was the reason I bought the plugin…?
The images we are uploading are 4162 x 2775 (at 300dpi). I’ve set the max preview size to 600, so previews should be approximately 600 x 400. The watermark image is 480 x 360. And yet, the watermark appears minuscule (approximately 60 x 40).
Using these ratios, it would seem the watermark has shrunk in comparison with the original image – the original image is reduced by about 8x and the watermark image is reduced about 8x. Is that the issue? Do I need to create a watermark 8x larger for it to cover the preview photos?
December 4, 2017 at 3:57 am #76818PeterMemberActually I just checked the code and it’s not tricky at all but my initial suggestion is still valid.
Basically the way the watermarking function works is it takes the original full-sized image you are selling and also the full-sized watermark image file and merges them.
Then it creates a resized version of the merged image based on the value you specified in the “max preview” size setting.
So in your case you are trying to watermark an image which has size of 4162 x 2775 with a watermark stamp of size 480 x 360. This explains why you are seeing the disparity.
It is done this way because there are people who want to have the zoom functionality enabled and hence when someone hovers over the unzoomed image they will see a properly proportioned watermark in the zoom popup.
Another more important reason for doing this is because the merging process is the most resource and memory-intensive process. Therefore by doing the watermarking this way it is only done once even if someone has the zoom feature enabled.
In summary, all you need to do is to upload a larger version of your watermark stamp.
December 12, 2017 at 8:58 pm #768194captronMemberNot able to see my watermark image. The images I’m uploading are 5472×3648 at 72 dpi and the watermark image is also 5472×3648 at 72 dpi and I can only see a very small box at the center of the picture. I have even attempted a watermark double the size of the gallery images, still no change.
Thank you.
December 12, 2017 at 10:10 pm #76820PeterMemberHi,
I think for starters your watermark image should be smaller than the official photo you are trying to sell because as explained earlier the plugin will overlay the images.
Have you tried a watermark around a third or quarter of the size of the main image?
December 12, 2017 at 10:44 pm #768214captronMemberI reduced the size of the watermark to 1824×1216. How long does it take for the change to take affect?
December 12, 2017 at 11:52 pm #768224captronMemberNothing I seem to do has any affect on the very small square in the center of the photo. The only gallery I have been testing on is Oceans.
December 13, 2017 at 2:08 am #76823PeterMemberDo you have logs enabled and if so have you had a look in the log file to see if there is anything related to this?
For the watermark image are you using a png or jpg file?
December 13, 2017 at 2:33 am #768244captronMemberI’m using a png and I will look into the logs.
December 13, 2017 at 2:54 am #76825PeterMemberI’ll also send you an email so I can grab an example of the watermark stamp and an actual photo you are using so I can try it on my test system.
December 14, 2017 at 5:24 pm #768264captronMemberThank you Peter for your assistance with this. With an image of 5472×3648 I set my watermark to 5478×3648 and saved it as a PNG-8 using the Photoshop ‘Save for Web’ function. The file size for the watermark is now 158kb and looks great when viewing the image in the photo details.
December 15, 2017 at 12:03 am #76827PeterMemberThat’s great news, I’m glad you got it working.
