WP Photo Seller – Order of Images inside Gallery

Hello,

I am trying to order my images like this:

Pretty Picture – Image 1

Pretty Picture – Image 2

Pretty Picture – Image 3

etc.

However, no matter which “Sort Order Of Gallery Images:” selection I make in the gallery settings, the images still show up as

Pretty Picture – Image 3

Pretty Picture – Image 2

Pretty Picture – Image 1

I have tried every single option given, and the order of my images won’t change. You can see what I mean here –> [http://karenswhimsy.com/wp-dev/photogallery/frog-cartoons/]

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. And solution for the missing period on “Terms and Conditions”?

The sort functionality works fine. Your browser cache is showing the previous sort order – use a totally different browser or clear cookies and cache and you will see what I mean.

ps: the “Terms and Conditions” period will be added in the next release. Will send you a copy when done.

Thanks for the quick response, Peter. Just wanted to say, in case it helps anyone else, that even emptying the cache on the new browser did not refresh the order of the images after I changed the setting. I actually had to quit the application and restart the browser each time in order for the changes to show. But I finally got it working.

Actually you also need to delete the cookies in your browser associated with your photo seller site. If you use Chrome, it is easy to delete the cookies for a particular site by using developer tools – go to Resources->Cookies and right click the entry for the photo seller site and select “clear”.

I’m encountering the same issue. I’ve just cleared the cookies on my website and this has not corrected the issue. One would think that the sort order of images within a gallery would be a simple matter of selecting the order you prefer and saving the gallery. Not so in my case unfortunately.

Hi Peter, It’s defaulting to ‘By ID Ascending’, but I need it to be by ‘By Name Ascending’. This is particularly important because my uploads are constantly getting http errors and the files are not loading in a particular order (I have to reload many files so they end up with an out-of-sequence ID’. My customers are expecting to browse chronologically.
