Does the “from” email address need to be related to the domain the purchase is being made from? I am testing and bought from one of my Paypal accounts to another. I got emails from PayPal both as buyer and seller, but nothing from the WordPress site.
November 28, 2013 at 9:46 pm #59296PeterMemberHave you checked that the “Send Email After Purchase” checkbox is enabled?
Also, in the orders menu, have you confirmed that the purchase is not “pending” or in any other state except completed?
You can turn on debug from the main settings menu by going to the “Testing and Debugging” section.
Please try that and make another test purchase. Then check the log.txt file – if the plugin sent the email, it should have an entry which says: “Will send purchase email now”
November 30, 2013 at 3:09 am #59297RosemaryFMemberYes, I did have the “Send Email After Purchase” box checked. But it seems that I need a way to set up the SMTP for the outgoing messages. I am trying Easy WP SMTP plugin.
March 23, 2014 at 10:54 am #59298pitshopMemberI have the same issue. I have set email after purchase. Also the order shows as payed and completed in the orders summary. I receive mails from paypal and as seller from the wp-site “photo seller plugin”, but no mail as a buyer.
In this context : I just uploaded several pictures in several galleries etc. but I did nothing else like e.g. admin functions: “Generate downloadlink for a photo”. Is this the problem? Do I have to generate for each photo a download link manually?

No you do not have to generate any links manually – the plugin will generate these and send them with the email.
Regarding your buyer email – check the “Email Settings” page and ensure that the “Send Email After Purchase” checkbox is enabled.
July 19, 2014 at 9:16 pm #59300GeraintMemberI have the same issue in so much as I receive sale notification as seller and paypal notification as buyer but do not receive the email with the download link. The Send Email After Purchase box is checked and also the site has worked with Paypal payments before now. I switched on logging and the log.txt file does not include the “Will send purchase email now” I have also looked at the forum entry re Paypal IPN settings but slightly confused by this as the site used to accept paypal payments
July 19, 2014 at 11:37 pm #59301adminKeymasterPlease post a link to your gallery page. Do you have the PayPal IPN feature enabled in your PayPal account? The following video will show you how to do that:
July 20, 2014 at 7:14 am #59302GeraintMemberIPN feature is enabled and sandbox is currently back on. I am using the following page as access to my gallery:
Currently I have set price lists to 0 to allow a client to continue working as this still allows download. The 2014 Navy Unit Sevens is linked to a different price list which has a chargeable amount and that can be used for test purposes.
July 20, 2014 at 10:04 am #59303GeraintMemberHave also used your plugin to test emails at server level and they are delivered.
July 21, 2014 at 12:41 am #59304adminKeymasterThank you. I checked the log file and the plugin is definitely sending the email. So lets go through the following to improve the delivarability of this email:
What value are you using in the “From Email Address” field of the plugin’s email settings area?
July 21, 2014 at 5:09 am #59305GeraintMemberThe e-mail address is: [Geraint@navyrugby.co.uk]. I have also tried using a different address here including [Geraint@alliginphotography.co.uk]. Neither worked although both worked for sending notifications when there is an order with zero value and the buyer completes the form to give their details. Have also tested this outside of the sandbox environment so it is not due to sandbox simulation emails not being sent.
July 21, 2014 at 5:11 am #59306GeraintMemberSorry should have added that my buyer email address is an apple email account so not the same as the seller account. I have also checked my spam boxes and emails are not being routed there.
July 22, 2014 at 1:38 am #59307adminKeymasterThe [Geraint@navyrugby.co.uk] address looks good (you should use that one as it is on your domain). I have sent you an email to organize access to the site so I can check a few more things.
July 24, 2014 at 6:12 am #59308GeraintMemberThank you for the ongoing and continued support on this issues. As recommended I downloaded WP Easy SMTP plugin to my site and configured the outgoing email. This seems to have resolved the issue and certainly my first test purchase was received correctly. I can now continue with my planned implementation. Though not helped by time zones thank you for the timely and methodical support provided. G
February 2, 2016 at 9:17 pm #59309uniqoMemberI am getting notice of sale to seller’s email but not to client. Settings all correct and yes I checked all boxes so all status (pending, complete etc) should trigger client email but nothing (not in spam too). Ideas?
