WP Photo seller – HTTP ERROR… could not establish a connection to PayPal

Hi,

I bought your plugin and I am having some difficulties

I set my paypal address (sandbox for test), I create a token PDT and I entered him in the “paypal settings”.

when I order I received good money on paypal account but on the back page I get an error :

-“HTTP ERROR… could not establish a connection to PayPal for verification!”

– I am not receiving email order or download link

– The order does not appear in the controls.

Looks like something on your server is blocking communication with paypal.

Do you have a firewall or some kind of security plugin which could be blocking outbound communication?

If it’s not the above, you should also ask your host provider why connectivity to paypal is being blocked. They will be able to tell you why.

What happens if you switch to the live transaction mode? Just want to see if your sandbox setup is playing up or not.

Your IPN should still work which will deliver the email and stuff. Enable the debug option in the plugin then do a live test transaction so we can see if the IPN is also failing.

What kind of hosting package are you using? Who is your hosting provider?

in live transaction mode I have no error but the orders do not register, the client is not receiving email and the download link on the return page is not working.

I disabled WP Photo seller and installed WooCommerce, set the token PDT to test trade with paypal and everything works perfectly. There is obviously no problem server is not blocking communication with paypal.

I have no security plugin.

my hosting provider is OVH with a shared hosting

What is the solution ?

Can you log in to your paypal account and check the following settings:

1) “Auto Return” (this should be enabled)

2) “Payment Data Transfer (optional)”

3) Also find the “Instant Payment Notification (IPN)” setting and please enable this feature if it’s not enabled.

I spent my site in “https” for ipn paypal. (Which cost me 60€ more for a server permitting)

it has not changed my problem. the customer does not receive any email from the site and it receives no download link, the orders do not appear either.

Payment via paypal work well and the client receives the received paypal payment. the problem is not from paypal but WP Photo seller. Since the change in “https” photos of the product gallery will exhibit more. even creating new galleries.

I decided to reinstall everything to be on a clean basis but now WP Photo seller told me that my license key is invalid. So nothing works … please help me

Regarding the other issue:

Can you please enable debug for photo seller:

Settings-> Enable Logging.

Also can you create a dummy test gallery with a price of $0.01 and send us the link so we can try a test purchase.

I completely reinstalled wordpress and wp photo seller. I always order the same problem: the orders are not recorded and the client receives no email or download link.

I just performed a few test purchases from your gallery and I was successfully able to buy the photo and I also received the download link email and in addition was able to instantly download the photo from the thank you page too.

how did you make it work? any manipulation did you do to place your order?

When I order it does not appear, I do not receive email and instead the download link I have : “{product_link_digital_items_only}”

I asked two friends to please do the customers. They passed orders and they received nothing either. their orders are not displayed in the dashboard.

I have a feeling that the paypal feature called “Pay After Delivery” may be the cause. I noticed that when I do a “pay after delivery” purchase I never get any links and I don’t see the download link. However when I make a purchase where I “pay now” everything works as it should.

We will do some more tests and investigations to see if we can find a solution to this.

UPDATE: I made a tweak to the plugin and now the download links on the thank you page are working properly on your site.

Regarding email being sent to customer – it appears that your server is not sending emails out.

The photo seller plugin is definitely saying it sent the email but looks like there is some external issue you need to fix on your server.

after spending all day in your debug plugin I found what the problem was.

In the log file I have:

“Failed to insert into the order The Following table”:

and:

“Buyer email successfully sent to”:

it was because my last name in paypal contains accents (é, è, à) and those of my friends too. This is very common in France. This is why your command worked and not ours.

I solved this problem by using a utf8_encode in the file WPSPaypalStandard.php

But I wonder what will happen when there is an update of your plugin?

Now I have another problem the image that is downloaded is not displayed, it seems damaged. I tried with several images and not only works after download.
