WP Photo Seller: customer not receiving email after purchase

When buying a photo from our site the PayPal transaction goes through, but the buyer does not receive an email with download link, and the WP Photo Seller plugin have not registered the sale.

We get Seller Notification Mail from WP Photo Seller with information regarding the sale, but the name of the buyer is missing.

Both seller and buyer get notification mails from PayPal with the correct information.

We have not removed any pages from the site. We have enabled sending of data from the transaction in PayPal. We have registered our site address at PayPal as return address. Buyer is redirected to the “Thank You” page after finishing the payments.

We use the plugin Wordfence at our site. May that be part of the problem, or have we missed something crucial in our setup?

Are the buyers automatically redirected back from paypal to your site after they pay for the photos? Maybe your paypal account settings are not quite right.

Can you check the following settings in you paypal account:

Log in to your paypal acct and go to “Website Payment Preferences”.

What are your settings set to for the following?

1) “Auto Return” (this should be enabled)

2) “Payment Data Transfer (optional)”

Also find the “Instant Payment Notification (IPN)” setting and please enable this feature if it’s not enabled.

Let me know after you do the above if this fixes your issue.

We have tried with credit card payments via PayPal. With that option the buyers are not directly redirected back to our web-site, but must click on a button first. They are then redirected to our “Thank You” page.

1) Auto return is on.

2) Payment Data Transfer is on.

3) IPN is enabled, and PayPal’s log shows the correct number of IPN-messages.

Can you please enable debug from the photo seller settings menu and then try another test purchase and let us know when you’ve done that so we can check the logs?

Also in the wordpress pages menu can you verify that you have a page called “IPN” with the following shortcode:

Debugging turned on.

The IPN page is present and contains the correct shortcode.

Performed new test buy with same result. Receive emails to both seller and buyer from PayPal with correct information, but no email to buyer from WP Photo Seller and no registered sales in WP Photo Seller.

The logs show that order was processed.

However for some reason the buyer email is blank.

Can you set up a gallery with digital price of $0.01 so I can make a test purchase?

The seller’s email contains not only the last sale, but all previous sales. Still no buyer’s email.

Here is what the seller’s email looks like:

OK, I also got the correct seller’s email with information regarding the buyer and a registered sale in WP Photo Seller.

By the way, did you use credit card or PayPal account? My previous tests used the credit card option in Paypal, not the PayPal account.

I used paypal. But the same will also apply for credit card payments.
