WP LightBox Ultimate – Lightbox hangs on mobile device

I upgraded my theme from a Twenty-Ten based theme to Twenty-Twelve. Everything continues to work normally except the mobile version. On my iPhone (with both chrome and safari) the lightbox pops up but the video or audio never plays. I never see the flowplayer scrollbar or play button, the lightbox is empty. Desktop browsers work fine.

I tried updating WP Lightbox Ultimate to the newer 1.9.1 but that caused more problems so I went back to 1.8.4

Please let me know if there is something I can do to make the light box work on the iPhone.

Hi, I just checked all of your videos from iOS devices. I haven’t seen any issue.

The lightbox pops up and the video plays on your iOS device? I checked both my iphone (iphone5) and ipad (ipad2) and the lightbox pops up but the video does not load/play.

I tried letting it sit for minutes thinking that it might be downloading the whole video before it begins to play, but that is not the case.

I didn’t have any trouble until I switched to this new theme so it has to be related.

As long as you are loading the same theme for both desktop and mobile devices I don’t see any issue. Please note that when the video pop ups from your iOS device it uses the native player associated with that particular device (It has nothing to do with flowplayer).

Just to restate the problem: Your plugin has been functioning as expected on my old theme. Now that I changed themes to Twenty-Twelve, your plugin does not play video on any of my iOS devices. Same video content, same storage location (protected Amazon S3), same shortcode. But now iOS devices will not play the videos.

I am using the same theme for desktop and mobile, yet I do have an issue. Maybe your iOS devices have some magical power that mine and my friends do not. So far I’ve tested on an iPhone4, 4s, 5, and iPad2. None of those devices will play any of the videos on the page I linked to. About 75% of my mobile traffic are iOS devices, so getting this to work is important to me.
