I’ve read through the other posts on this issue, but haven’t found an answer. I changed my subscription price (causing the failed payments), but have now changed the pricing back to the original and am wondering if those failed payment will be rebilled or not. I do have the box checked to reattempt failed payments.
And…what if I had someone subscribe at the NEW price? My price points were $7 initially, then $9.97, and now back to the original $7.
PayPal doesn’t let you change the recurring price for existing customers (because when they subscribed, they already agreed to pay that particular amount). However, you can change a different subscription amount for your new customers.
In the future when you want to change any aspect of a subscription, you should do the following:
1) Simply create a new eStore product and specify the new subscription details in the product.
2) Edit the page where you have place the subscription button. Update the product ID in the shortcode to the new eStore subscription product.
This way the new users will subscribe in the price and the old eStore product(s) will remain in the old price for your old customers.
Yes, that subscription charge will be tried again by PayPal if it didn’t get charged already. So you have nothing to do.
