WP eStore is not creating PayPal Subscriptions

Our site is using WP eStore with the WP Payment Gateway Bundle to sell memberships via WP eMember. I want to use the eStore cart for checkout but, whether I use Authorize.net or PayPal checkout, no subscriptions appear to be being created.

Gateway settings available in WP Payment Gateway Bundle are forPayPal are PayPal Payments Pro or PayPal Advanced Payments. We are not using either Payments Pro or Advanced payments so I used the Authorize.net AIM Gateway Settings to setup payment through our Authorize.net account. I used WP eStore to set up the PayPal Gateway.

When I add a membership product to the cart, I can use the dropdown to checkout through either PayPal or Authorize.net. The membership is created successfully.

I added a shortcode for unsubscribing and these were the things I noticed.

1. Unsubscribing only seems to be available through PayPal.
2. When I click that link, the PayPal account goes to a page where there is no active subscription to quit.
3. When I login to the Authorize.net account, there does not appear to be an active ARB subscription.

Documentation links that I’ve reviewed seem to suggest that I must create a button for subscriptions but that defies logic, at least for me. Here are the links that I’ve read:

My questions for you are these:

1. Can I use the eStore cart for checkout?
2. Rephrasing question #1, must I create PayPal and Authorize ARB payment buttons for each membership type/level being sold instead of using the cart checkout for the initial subsciption of an upgrade?
3. How can I allow a member to unsubscribe if they joined through the Authorize.net gateway?

1. Can I use the eStore cart for (subscription) checkout?

   The cart cannot be used for subscriptions.

• PayPal subscriptions can only be processed (through the bundle) using PayPal Payments Pro Subscription.
• Authorize.net subscriptions can only be processed (through the bundle) using Authorize.net ARB (Automated Recurring Billing).

   “Subscribe” buttons must be used.

   To cancel an Authorize.net subscription, you need to manually cancel it:

      Settings -> Payment Gateway Bundle -> Subscription Settings
