wp eStore functionality and paypal, etc.. what is the best setup?

Newbie here! Let me be stupid for now!!! I have been using eStore for several months and I am noticing some problems I am constantly having to handle manually. Products not being downloadable, payment not going through, no email confirmation.

When it comes down to it I really don’t know how eStore is suppose to work. Currently, I do not utilize a store page just a add to cart and a paypal check out.

I would like to have this work kinda like my awber account does. For instance:

*Initial-check email to verify opt in would not be necessary

1)Right after payment redirect to “thank you and download instantly” (paypal not sending back to my thank you page – why)

2)At same time Send email to customer “thank you with download link”

My eStore is set up (according to the checks I have selected for emails to be sent) to email download link in email. Why does’t it work.

I am trying to check debug files but not sure how to that.

Not sure what to do here. I am sensing I need to use a store page and actually take customer through a sales page presentation, you know, showing all the free stuff “if you act now”.

Sorry for this rambling question – I guess, the biggest issues are – how to redirect after paypal has accepted payment and why are my customer not getting a thank you email from my wordpress site with download link included. There is a paypal email with payment details, but not from eStore.

An email will be sent with download link in addition to download link displayed on Thank You page (See above answer).

Also make sure that in your product’s configuration you have correctly filled in the “Digital Content Details” section, ie, you have the URL of the file and the “Downloadable” checkbox is ticked.
