WP 3.6; NextGen 1.9.13 (had to use this version to get site to work); Purchased WP eStore
Problem Page: [http://www.raylund.com/gallery/]
Problem – width of the variation drop-down menu is too wide for thumbnail.
Resolution – Completed both Google and Forum search, studied posts dealing with variation menu but could not define what to do in my page. File names were referred to but did not find those or similar file names either in WP editor or in the WP file listing using Fetch. Experimented but what I tried had no effect.
It would help if a solution was specific as to the location of file to reference, maybe what other names might be used, and the location (editor in WP account for website or WP files accessed with a program like Fetch – I say this because not all of the WP files show up on my WP admin website – I have to use Fetch to see them all). Kind Regards – R.

Many hours later for this non-programmer, I kept hunting for file names suggested in this forum when working with the variation option of eStore (WP eStore/Add-Edit Products/Variations). Used FTP software (Fetch) to edit (TextWrangler) ‘wp_eStore_style.css’ (wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/wp_eStore_style.css). Tried editing in Fetch but it would not save edit. Downloaded file, opened in TextWrangler, made changes, saved. Used Fetch to upload to the WP eStore directory. Voila!Tthe variation drop-down menu now fits under the thumbnail. Default settings was set at 100px, I used 60px as a guess and I am going to live with that for now.
.eStore_variation{
margin-top:0px;
margin-bottom:0px;
width: 60px !important
}
I am not comfortable doing coding because the slightest error retails efforts, I honor programmers who have the trouble-shooting skills and strong shot/long term memory skills to do the trail-and-error process. I hope later versions give the user a few more built-in variables in this regard.
Note that I went back to NextGen v:1.19.13, as I could not get the most recent version to work after tons of hours working at it. Forum was helpful to alert me to the problems of the recent version. Thanks to all who post and blessings to all who answer.
Kind Regards, R.
September 10, 2013 at 12:17 am #57673adminKeymasterBy default the variation drop down will be as wide as your longest variation name. It is a standard behavior of the browser for dropdown fields.
However, what you have done to customize the width of the variation dropdown menu is perfectly fine.
We tested with the current version of NextGen gallery plugin and that should be working fine too. Are you using our eStore Nextgen integration addon?
